Good Morning Cruzers! I have a dumb question, is the poll on this board now? If so, woo hoo! I did my 6 favorite eagle names. Thank you all for your great Nest Adoption graphics and creative funraising ideas. You're all the best. |

I was curious as to how a poll worked, so just for fun I put together a list of all the unofficially named IWS eagles I could find, and made a poll on the IWS forum where you can pick up to six of your favorites. Check it out here: Pick your favorite IWS Eagle names! Here's a list of what I came up with, some I did not even know! Did I miss any?? Very grateful for the Wing Bling Reference charts in All Eagles All The Time!!!

The West End poll will be on CHIL - I was just trying to see how it all worked! Although I think the 6 favorite names is a fun thing all on its own! |

everyone. Voted for my 6 favourite in the fun poll. Thanks jeannec, it was fun. Took a little time, so hard to choose. Voting for names for the WE chicks will be a difficult task, there are so many and they are all really good ones. Although I think I have already picked my two.Job well done jeannec, awesome!

Topa, how are you. I am really looking forward to the update today, hoping we all hear more about the TH chicks, gender and all around health and which # gets which name. I am also looking forward to the banding at WE on Friday. Getting a big kick out of the TH chicks and their disappearing and reappearing to and from the patio. Hope they don't decide to take their first flight from there and we miss it. They make me laugh with their antics. A quick question, any idea around when they should be taking their first flight, could it be anytime now? Barb Edmonton, Alberta, Canada |

Bubala, I don't think I'm the one to ask regarding fledging.. I think they need a little more practice before they fledge so I'm hoping we have them around for a while. They are so cute when they do fledge, they usually fly to and from the nest with some awkward landings... They look so healthy and strong.. fingers crossed for all our chicks in 2009.

first TH chick hatched on 3/26 so tomorrow would be 10 weeks old juvies CAN fledge anywhere from 10-12 weeks - usually closer to the 12 week mark we've not seen lots and lots of flapping or lift offs yet at TH but they are starting ........ they are also beginning to learn to stand into the wind - another point of development. we'll just have to keep an eye out but I'd make a guess at closer to 12 weeks! (but they could prove us wrong couldn't they) it will be a happy and sad day won't it! |
