Eaglepedia Revisited

December 9, 2006

The fastest-growing bird in North America, the bald eagle weighs 4 ounces at birth and can gain 6 ounces a day. The juvenile can be larger than its parents weighing up to 12 pounds, at 3 months of age. The bones of an eagle are hollow and weigh less than half the weight of its feathers. The Bald Eagle is the only bird considered sacred by every North American Indian tribe, revered for its strength, beauty, independence, hunting prowess and the power and height of its flight.

Just a heads up - this year in the drawing - if you are contacted by Dr. Sharpe as a winner, you can choose from one of the tours, dvd, nest adoption certificate OR you can pick an item from special eagle items that have been generously donated to help support the Eagle Effort - here's a quick view (photos are clickables) - for more info - visit the 2009 Nest Adoption Challenge Thread (first one on the index page) and have a look for detailed info!

And here's where we are today:

Every penny counts - we can reach and surpass our goal - go Cruzers go!

Awards to be distributed right now would be:

10 IWS tours
10 Pimu tours
10 DVDs
10 Nest Adoption Certificates
10 Eagle Items

That's 50 gifts to be distributed to Cruzers who are supporting the eagles thru the '09 NAC!

We can collectively do even better - we have until June 15 to go higher!

Clean out your dryer, look under the car seats - search high and low!

AND don't forget the bonus - if you donate at least $25 - you will automatically receive a Nest Adoption Certificate!
