Karen and Scamp both look wonderful Ozzie. Michele~Mulching went pretty easy. I just poured it in a pail, and spread it around in the planter around the plants, but I still need about 4 more bags of it probably. I only got 3, not knowing how it would go, or what I was doing. Store is 3/4 of a mile down the street, so I'll probably go get more and call it done tomorrow. I've never done anything like that before. I am pretty good at watering, and last Nov. I planted my first ever bulbs, so it's all new to me. Pretty fun. Not sure about planting okra, but I might be game for some onions one year. |

I only planted tomatoes this yer.. or I should say my son 'helped' me.. 8 plants and half of them are already taller than me.. never had such luck.. there are hundreds of green tomatoes of all kinds on these bushes... two cherries...the rest regular size but different colors...wish I had planted more stuff.... but I have a little bunny problem too...

Ruh roh, Barb........no tomatoes for you!!! We have tomatoes planted and every year I'm spoiled by having them. After having garden grown tomatoes, you realize how tasteless the store bought ones are. Yuck. Sooooo, I've gotten to where I rarely eat the store bought ones and save myself for the real deal in the Summer and Fall. Another thing I love are cucumbers. So far, we have just about all that is necessary for a salad. We have Romaine lettuce, tomatoes, and cucumbers. Then we also have corn and bell peppers. Our bell peppers don't get enough water, so I'm thinking that that is why the walls of the pepper aren't thicker??? I don't know. They taste alright.....but not as good as the store bought ones. Oh well, can't win them all.......
