Hi all....I have been lurking, but haven't had time to post. This is a very busy time for me at work with the end of the school year and state boards I've been putting in lots of hours. I have loved all of the NAC daily postings the team has done a wonderful job! Thanks for all of your hard work. Just put my check in the mail today so it is on it's way. Have had a rather rough couple of weeks and on Monday I had to send another one of my cats, Bandit, to the Rainbow Bridge I had a total of 4 cats and now I'm down to the youngest, Oreo, who is 15 years old. She is so sad as she has never been alone. We had a rough few days, but now she seems to realize that Bandit is not coming back. He had CRF and was failing the last couple of weeks and so I made the choice to ease him of his discomfort. I have had to make these choices now 3 times and it is never easy, but I know it was the right thing to do. He was a wonderful, loving, and charming cat that I will miss and his best buddy, Oreo misses him too!

Nancy, so sorry about Bandit... do you feel Oreo is too old to introduce a new kitty?? I know it may be too soon to actually do that but I feel for the kitty left behind.. Jillers had good luck intoducting a new cat to her older one when she lost a kitty... You have my sympathy...

Thanks Lala....I think right now it is too soon for the both of us. Oreo, in fact today for the first time, came to greet me at the door upon my arrival home. She hasn't done that since the beginning of the week. I do pretty well during the day, until I come home. But each day brings more comfort. Lala I have loved your photos as always. They bring a smile to my face and peace to my heart. I certainly hope that you will enter them in a photo contest soon Thanks for taking such painstaking time to capture the right moment.

I am so sadden to hear your cat woes Nancy,it is hard to make the decision but one needed for quality of life. And poor Oreo with no familiar friends, would be very hard. Give Oreo a big hug from us. |
