I just cant understand why corporations act without compunction of the consequences... especially in this day and age where they should KNOW better.

The Esperance Port Authority has pleaded guilty to causing lead pollution in two incidents that led to children being poisoned and thousands of birds "falling out of the sky".

Up to 9,000 birds were estimated to have died in the southern West Australian port city in December 2006 and January 2007, in what was a mystery to environmental and health authorities at the time.

Not sure what to make of this. In some respects the building should be preserved, but then again, I wouldnt want someone telling me what I can or cannot do with property I've bought, particularly when the building really isnt that nice looking (which is relative I suppose)
