Eaglepedia Revisited

January 25, 2007

The young raptor will begin flying across the nest as he practices for his upcoming fledge. He is nearly 95% of the size of his parents and many times, weighing more than they do. Many times their first trial flights take them to nearby trees. Sometimes parents may coerce the youngster to fly by using food as a lure, taunting the reluctant offspring, motivating the youngster to leave the nest.

Deb - Thank you for doing such a nice job on putting today's post together. It looks great! I just love the photo of you smiling and looking so proud in your IWS hoodie. I just received mine and I think Alan has snagged it, it is so comfy-cozy.

The sun is trying really hard to come out from behind the clouds. But I think the clouds are winning the battle.

Phase three of what my DH calls " That Thing ".. :o :D
I'm going to let the weather bleach the 2x4s, to a grey.
Hopefully it will be done tonight. I have to run down to
Ventura to get shingles for the roof this afternoon.
We still have some white trim work to add.
