barb I'll mention that to ES - they are traveling with a tour service - pick 'em up at airport - Atomic Museum - Old Towne - Sandia Peak & hike on the rim then next day off to Bandelier for a hike and then rafting on the Rio Grande! Two days of fun fun fun - lots to see. Wish I were going well at least for the Albqu part - I've been there several times and enjoy every visit- love the area - ES has even mentioned moving there - hmmmmmm - no I don't think so! LOL

ER have seen that before - photos are awesome - hope folks read the wording - especially where it states that it is a story / folklore .......you'd be surprised how many people think the eagle transition actually happens! It's a representative tale meant to inspire - something we can apply to our lives! We can all experience a rebirth when the weight of the old drags us down and is not the best for us. We all have the capability of making a positive choice and moving forward to a better situation and life! Thanks..... |

Howdy Eagleholics A couple of very interesting articles about our Channel Islands in the paper this morning. The first is a lenghty article about ship and plane wreck diving around the Channel Islands. Interesting what may be down there, but scary too: "Some 15 miles south of Santa Cruz lies a munitions dumping ground that was used to dispose of explosives, ammo, toxic chemicals and radioactive waste..." http://www.venturacountystar.com/news/2009/jun/14/what-lies-beneath/ The second article is very interesting too, about a proposal that parts of the Islands be designated as "wilderness". Read it to see how this might possibly effect our own biologists on the islands: http://www.venturacountystar.com/news/2009/jun/14/channel-islands-park-may-become-wilderness/ |

Looks like we had everybody stumped. June's son, DIL, and three grandchildren live here. She flew from Montreal to visit them and to attend a very special year-end dance recital. The weather was nice so we were able to sit outside as well as go for a walk down by the river. I wanted to show June where the eagles sometimes hang out when they are here in the winter. It was such a treat to get together with a fellow Cruzer. We had a very special afternoon together. She said that she knew she had the right house because of the wing blings I had hung on the wreath on the front door. Our beanies had a blast and so did we! Come back again soon, June! All clickables. ![]() ![]()

Cathy, your new aviary looks wonderful......I can't wait to see pix of your Love Birds in their new home. Speaking of pix......that was a good one of your visiting Oriole. The color was so vibrant. Cheryl, now I'm on pins and needles wondering who your visiting Cruzer is. Pictures....we demand pictures!!! Deb, too bad you couldn't fly to Albuquerque for the two days and then fly home.......you know, you could use all of those frequent flier miles that you've been logging lately. Penny, you have once again posted a ton of things of interest. I love the Norfolk pix of the eaglets.....and hope to heaven that Azalea makes it safely back to the nest. The video of the O.W.L. rescue of the BE chicklet brought tears to my eyes. Thank You for posting it. And Speaking of tears, Elaine, I loved the video you posted.......it was soooooo beautiful. Between your video and Penny's I was a blubbering mess......but I loved them both.
