The first poll is open - have you voted?

K-98 needs a name - wants a name - should have a name!

Take a moment to carefully review the list of proposed names -

You only get one vote - choose wisely - listen to your heart!

The naming poll for K-97 will follow at the end of the week.

who's the cruzer friend cheryl? have a fun time - maybe a :clk:

Linda - yes gary's crew is flying to Albq for a couple days to get used to the altitude and do some site seeing/hiking!

The arrive around 7/18 ? (without looking at a calendar)
Oh, we will be back by then, but my husband's family is having a reunion of sorts in Red River beginning July 19, so we probably won't have much of a chance to meet up. It sounds like they will have a full schedule of things to see, anyway. They are doing lots of fun things, and it is really a good idea for them to come early to acclimate to the altitude. Big difference for them in that regard.

When was the last time you were in ABQ? And why do you think you wouldn't like to retire here? It really is a great place - we get all four seasons, but no real extremes, as a general rule. I have a friend who moved here after visiting his retired parents late in February one year. He said his wildest dreams were fulfilled when he found a place where he could ski in the morning and golf in the afternoon!

Deb while Gary and the Scouts are acclimatizing if they would liked to see the Steam Locomotive that is being restored here Marlin is part of that group and he can show the site anytime. Here is the website if you want to check it out www.nmslrhs.org.

Barb
Barb, I forget if you ever told me. Did your husband work on the railroad or does he just have a thing for the old trains? My late uncle worked for the railroad all his life, beginning in Wyoming and retiring after working years near Long Beach.

I bet Deb could learn to love not-quite-so cold weather! We do have cold, just not a whole lot of below zero cold. And I bet she could learn to live without all the humidity in the summer, too!

probably the only time gary would have would be in the evening once they are at their hotel for the night (after dinner) he has to stay with the scouts since he's the crew leader LOL - and yes busy schedule! I got real sick the first time we flew to Albqu but not the next - I had it all worked out! :) Last time I was there - 5 years ??

Well Deb, hope you can come back with ES sometime - maybe just for a vacation. Was it the altitude that made you sick?

yes as soon as they opened the door on the plane - I was sick! took about 24 hrs. to get the worst of it behind me! NOW I drink a ton of water for a few weeks before I make the trip and the next several trips I was AOK! no headache, no dizzy, no upset stomach - all was well!
