Good morning, peeps. I was able to watch the early morning routine today at the Necedah Wildlife Refuge in Wisconsin with the whooping crane chicks (and a couple of adults who have claimed the Cohort Two site as part of their territory). This is a little slideshow of the activity just before 6 am CST. More to follow in another slideshow of the flight training!! click for slideshow

Cheryl - You must have been up very early this morning to catch the whooper training session. I missed it, all I got was the ultralight taking off to probably do a check. Thanks so much for the slideshow and videos, it is so wonderful to watch these beautiful birds.

Thank you CDN for getting up so early and making the slide show so we can see the training that's involved. I'm so glad the OM team has set up the cams for viewing the training.

Fonda San Miguel Restaurant authentic mexican cuisine ![]() ~ Stuffed Zucchini Squash: Calabacitas Rellenas! ingredients: * 6 large zucchini squash * 2 cups fresh corn kernels * 2 tablespoons milk * 1 teaspoon salt * 2 eggs * 1 cup ( 4 ounces ) shredded Monterey Jack Cheese * 2 cups Salso Ranchera, warmed cooking instructions: 1. preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease a 13-by-9-inch casserole dish and set aside. 2. cut the zucchini in half lengthwise. Use a melon baller to scoop out the center and make small boats, discarding the pulp. ( take care not to puncture the bottom or sides of the squash.) Place in the prepared baking dish and set aside. 3. combine the corn, milk, salt, and eggs in a blender and blend to a coarse puree. Stir in 1/2 cup of the shredded cheese. Divide the corn mixture into equal portions and spoon into the zucchini shells. Top each with a portion of the remaining 1/2 cup cheese and dollop of butter. 4. cover with foil and bake for 30 to 45 minutes, or until the custard is set. 5. place 2 boats on each plate and spoon warm Salsa Ranchera over the top. Serves 6 as an entree or 12 as a side dish. |

Jiller's, That's why I posted this one, because corn and zucchini are plentyful in the markets these days. Everyone who grows zucchini always has too many too. I don't have a picture of it, I typed it from a magazine. There's a recipe for Three - Milk Cake Pastel De Tres Leches! ![]() I'll save for another day.. |

Topa - Your recipe sounds yummy. We have so few Mexican restaurants here in Toronto so I look forward to going to Florida as there are tons of good ones. We go to a Mom and Pop place where the food is wonderful and they make Alan special dishes that aren't too spicy, I love hot spicy food.
