We had the most awesome storm last night, huge thunder booms and lightning bolts...Siobhan was in panic mode so I slept on the den couch with her...we are both  from lack of sleep.

It is supposed to get to a high of 84F today and right now the sun is shining after several hours of light rain...the squirrel babies don't seem to mind. They take turns sitting on the garage roof or in the feeder munching away in the rain...no worries rofl

Ma and Pa Sidney are still hanging around both their nests but seem to spend much more time nestorating on the old one :)^

They were back again this early this morning. I think they are enjoying some 'alone' time
together before they head out on their migration journeys :D

They seem to be so relaxed now that Tiny is no longer around screeching in their faces all the time rofl

Oh boy, Just got very sad news <:3 from my Darling Daughter. She met with the Goleta Ca. School supervisor yesterday, they called her. There are zero jobs in the Santa Barbara school district and they are combining class rooms in Goleta and have to hire the teachers with tenure and who want to transfer from Santa Barbara to Goleta.
They offered DD a substitute full time job with no benefits or paid days off.
1/2 the pay. She is heart broken. <:3

How horrible for Rachel to get this news at the last minute Topa :o
It's enough to make you want to :hair: and scream.

This tenure thing is always the problem when downsizing happens even if the older teachers are not as caring or skilled  I guess this would mean she is going to have to look further afield ....or what about religious schools?

I have a Jewish friend who has been teaching in a private Catholic school for over 25 years here...the salary isn't as high as she could make elsewhere but she is a French teacher and so enjoys this smaller school.

:Hugs: to Rachel as she tries to find an alternative teaching job
