How's the weather where you are? It's chilly here this morning, only 52 degrees. We're going to Lake Casitas today to run on the grass field and feed the ducks. I think we'll set up the Cruzer picnic sight and stay for a few hours while the adults do a little shopping. Just the three big kids and me. I have company this morning. ![]() |

eaglepedia revisited March 21, 2007 Eagles can fly low over the ocean, coming upon unsuspecting seabirds by hiding in the troughs of the swells. Having chosen it's victim, the eagle will give chase until the prey is exhausted. If the water is clear, the eagle may circle above, watching the waterfowl trying to hide by swimming underwater. Occasionally, two or more eagles will hunt cooperatively, with one flushing rabbits or ducks from cover and the others closing in for the kill. Hunting is an important part of the eagle's life, especially adults, but robbing other birds and scavenging on carrion are more frequently the means of getting food. This does not mean that the eagle is a less worthy bird of prey but this flexible feeding strategy (hunting, stealing, scavenging) allows the eagle to conserve energy while capitalizing on whatever food is readily available. ![]() "The Audubon Society Field Guide to the Bald Eagle" Visit Eaglepedia DISCLAIMER: Information here has been gathered in good faith from the internet and cannot be guaranteed to be totally accurate. |

![]() Whoop, whoop happy Monday! Sweetie - pies with your coffee, Topa! How did your son and DIL manage with the four kidlets on the plane? Did they say anything about it? Enjoy your day at Lake Casitas.Carole, hope your cold is not too bad today. Thank you for all the zoo pictures. There was a segment on the news about the Toronto Zoo being 30 years old this summer. Looks like they've added a splash pad for the children, that would have been nice years ago. The polar bear enclosure has had an upgrade, and they showed an exhibit of jellyfish and tropical fish which looked new. The jellyfish display at the aquarium in Honolulu was mesmerising. Hope to see the Toronto one sometime. Deb, the heat and humidity here are both high today. Floor measuring guy was here at 8:20 am. Should be able to get it done in about three weeks. Will have to get DS and his football friend to move the washer and dryer. Not looking forward to the mess. Enjoy your day, everyone.

Topa, your grandchildren are so enchanting! Carole, LOVE the polar bears. Hope you’re feeling better today. Currently 66F here, going up to about 90F. The days are noticeably shorter already. It seems forever in the morning for it to get light. Maybe, I should try to sleep in one morning? Maybe I'll get wild and crazy and sleep to 5am? |

Cheryl - The cold has settled in my chest but I have my annual check-up tomorrow morning so the doctor will probably prescribe an antibiotic or whatever, I am prone to bronchitis. I feel so sad, my best girlfriend in Montreal lost her Mother on Saturday and the funeral is on Wednesday and we won't be able to go. I just don't feel up to it and don't want to pass all my germs onto everyone else. Also, we would have to leave tomorrow and I booked this doctor appointment 5 months ago. I know she understands but it doesn't make me feel any better.

Cat - Thanks so much. My friend's Mom did live till 98 and only in the past 6 months did serious medical issues occur, so she was a lucky lady to have a long and healthy life.
