Ozzie - The photos you posted yesterday with the humpback whale and diver are awesome. Talk about up close and personal. :o

Cheryl - I was watching your Whoopers this morning and they just make me giggle, they are so cute pecking their way around the enclosure. The minute one enters, the rest follow, they don't want to miss out on anything. :D

Cat - Glad you enjoy the zoo pics. Many years ago DH and I visited the SD Zoo and it was fabulous then, I can imagine how much better it is 20 years later. We have a great zoo in Toronto so will plan a visit there this fall.

I used to have a membership to our zoo. I would go their every week. I loved seeing all the animals, but I also would go there to meditate. Early in the morning it was always quiet there. I would pick one area and meditate. It was quite refreshing.

I have only been once since I got sick. DH went with me and I had a great time, but got tired about 1/3 of the way through. It is a small zoo, too.

We have two bald eagles. Their young are released in Tennessee. Funny I never think of Tennessee as eagle country, but it is.

This fall one of our elephants is going to have a baby. She was also born here several years ago.

I wish we had a cam. It would be so fun to watch animals I know.

Glad to see you online, Carole, after seeing the news about all the storms in your area last night. We just got some rain, no tornadoes or windstorms.

Great zoo pics again this morning, especially seeing the markings on the baby panda, and the polar bear enjoying the water.

Cat, that is a lovely idea to meditate at the zoo in the early morning. :)^

Topa, just saw your family photos from yesterday. I, too, really like the family picture at the beach. The seagull in the foreground just cracks me up. All your practising during your hikes this spring, taking such detailed pictures, has really paid off. Your photos of the family activities have been outstanding. Two thumbs up! :)^ :)^ :clk:

Ozzie, thanks for posting the pictures and story about the man and the humpback whale. I was wondering why he had different diving suits on in the pictures - looks like he had more than one encounter, although the story didn't explain that. He wouldn't have had time to change, and each photo said it was him, not another team member .

What an experience, though!!!

Cheryl - The storm hit as we were driving to the restaurant. Visibility was nil. Alan pulled the car up to the door and even with an umbrella I got soaked. The parking lot had about 1-1/2" of rain puddles and I was wearing sandals so I got a good footwash. :D The evening was delightful with great company and the food was excellent. I did remember to shut down my computer before we left.

Topa , I'm so enjoying your family photos and events. Thanks for letting us be a part of it.

Carole, sounds like our weather today. Nothing severe as yet, but rain showers that turn into downpours. I'm watching the dopplar right now and it looks like things may rock and roll pretty soon. and I absolutely love love love your belated b'day present. It's beautiful. I'm also enjoying the zoo pictures. Nicely done.

Just back from running a few errands in town and stopped at DH's workplace and took him to lunch since he let me use his truck this week while mine was being fixed.
