You can watch Mount Wilson from this cam- http://www.astro.ucla.edu/~obs/towercam.htm#imagetop So you can see all the smoke. Hopefully they can keep the fire from burning this down so it won't end up like what happened to our communications site at Gibraltar peak. The news services were asked not to give this URL out because it is so clogged already by people viewing it. So if it comes up page won't load, you'll have to try again. Very sorry to hear the news about the loss of the two firefighters. They dedicate their lives to keeping everyone else safe. I will be thinking of them and their families. Vicki, that is a relief that your friend is safe. Thinking of everyone who is in harm's way with the terrible fire. Topa, your lovebirds look like they are enjoying their tropical retreat - "rainshowers" and "breezes" to enjoy, really nice. You are thinking of them and their comfort in the heat, what a good birdie momma. Deb, how are your new birds doing? Jill, saw your photos of your cats - they look like they are such good companions. |

Cheryl - Nice pics of your whoopers. I watched some of their flight training this morning, the 6 cranes were so good and so eager to follow the ultralight the minute the gate was opened. They were so cute after the flight, all they wanted were their treats and once they had them, into the pen they went. They are a joy to watch. |

Whoopers! Penny! Topa's aviary.... Squish.... another Well, the plumber (tells me he is semi-retired) came yesterday that the upstairs owner had organized (and uses). He could not find the problem, there were no apparent leakages. "I dont know" and left at which time I cleaned up the mess. Will have to replace entirely the shower curtain rod, it broke. So the renters upstairs used the shower last night and I was about to use mine when all of a sudden it stated to 'rain' water and debris again! Owner was called again, who called the plumber to come today. I missed my pilates class waiting for him (which starts at 7.30am). Plumber calls me at 8 to say he will be a few hours later.... Thanks for letting me know. (imagine the computer as the plumber's head....)

Might I suggest sprinkling white pepper (or black, but you can see that) around, kitty will stop for sure! |

Skippy's Home is closing down.... http://www.smh.com.au/environment/hooroo-to-skippys-friends-ever-true-20090831-f5e8.html Rachel used to board her horse on the property next door for a couple of years. We'd been there a couple of times, it is in a very dry area, not the best for wildlife.... |
