Very nice, Topa. DH and I have a Backyard Sanctuary. We have tons of birds and a rock squirrel family. In fact, I have over 30 birds on my life list just from our yard. Many stay here year round; some are seasonal and some are just passing through. I love watching them all. |

I have a lot of birds too Catm, they come by to visit my lovebirds and eat the food that drops outside the aviary. I think I have more orioles than ever before. The red tail hawks and red shoulder hawks like to hang around. I think they think the love birds smell like something good to eat. I could have big animals, coyotes wander down from the foothills. I see them in the morning and hear them howling at dusk. Not good for the cats... I still love the coyotes. I'd keep my cats inside if I had cats. |

Topa - Yes it was a "Happy Chil Update", I can't deal with the sad ones so I am keeping a positive outlook on all the juvies that they are safely soaring over the islands and hanging out together. or :soar: :soar: :soar: :soar: :soar: :soar:

My sweet neighbour gave me 2 potted patio tomato plants, the little yellow ones. Well they aren't doing very well. They each have only one tomato per plant but my squirrels are so happy, they are burying the peanuts I feed them in the tomato plants so it wasn't a total loss, they have a stash for the winter months.

Gosh Cat, my day is just sorta starting. I've been up a while, in the garden, talking to the plumber (he found the leak) I received an email from a CA friend: This is a shot of the fire in the Mt. Wilson area of the Angeles National Forest. Burning for several days now--130,000 acres destroyed as of Tuesday night. This shot was from the Marina Fwy looking north over Pasadena. 2 Firefighters trapped and killed yesterday. The Picture was taken by an architect, Larry Allen, who has an office in the Marina. It was taken from the Marina Freeway about 30 miles from the fire. ![]() |

That' scary Ozzie. I hope the eaglets are deciding to stay on the islands away from that plume of smoke. Glad the plumber found the leak. Naturegal, are you sure the squirrels didn't eat the tomatoes? Have a nice evening catm. |

I cant have tomatoes where I am (I tried), the birds eat them! Karen said to say THANK YOU for all the BDay greetings, she will try to drop by soon. Rusty made her Birthday dinner of salmon, salad and corn on the cob, all on one leg.... LOL We both bought a webcam this week, first 'screen capture' !

Oh, Ozzie, thanks for the suggestion of the pepper the other day. We had to cut a piece of the indoor/outdoor carpet off since Katie peed on two ends of it. I have cayenne pepper on hand, but not sure if I will try that now that we cut off the pee area. Perhaps I'll bring some black pepper in to work as it wouldn't show up on the green as much as the cayenne pepper. |
