Tippi Hedron was just interviewed by phone on FOX News. The fire fighters are on her Shambala Reserve property right now with trucks to help protect all the animals....how on earth do you move lions and tigers and more through a fire zone???? :o

I guess you don't :'( Michael Jackson's tigers are there too.

Unfortunately, the youngest chick, #931, was hit by the wheel of the trike when the pilot swerved to avoid hitting #928, who had landed right in front of the landing plane yesterday. #931 had a broken leg and internal injuries and did not survive the surgery.

RIP #931
:^^^: :candle:
:'( :'( :'( over the crane ^"^ Cheryl. How sad after all that effort to even hatch those chicks. <:3
The trike pilot must really be feeling so horrible about causing the accident :(

I just came home from the dentist with a big smile. My appointment was for early this morning but they called me and asked if I could switch it with another patient who had an emergency. I said okay, no problem. They always give you a goodie bag filled with a new toothbrush, dental floss, toothpaste and gumpicks, but this time I found a surprise in my bag, a beautiful thank you note for being flexible about changing my appointment together with a $5.00 gift certificate to Starbucks. Now I will spoil myself as I don't usually spend that much on a cup of coffee. :D

The fog burned off and the team was able to train the whooper chicks this morning. I'm sure it wasn't funny to pilot Chris, but one chick dropped out and the resident adults attempted a chicknapping again. It was amusing to watch from the comfort of my armchair. This is a short slideshow of the training plus the chicknapping and rescue.

Starbucks, that is a treat, Carole! I'm afraid to even look at the prices on their boards! That was a thoughtful way for the dentist and his office team to show their appreciation for your flexibility.

Awww those whoopers sure want to take over ^"^ rearing duties don't they.
Thanks for the slideshow Cheryl :chk:

Nice that you got that gift certificate Carole :Yum: I can almost taste it :D I am on a complete clear liquid diet today which is keeping me very close to the water closet (as Ozzie may call it) so that is why I was just posting away this morning :P

Cheryl - Posted Image for the slideshow. I watched part of it this morning and can't believe how eager they are to follow the ultralight. I think the whoopers have trained the OM staff when it comes to getting their treats, they won't go back into the enclosure until they are rewarded. :D

My old dentist unfortunately got Parkinson's Disease and had to retire. I had no idea who to go to but I got a phone call from my hygienist who changed offices and I followed her there. This office is so high-tech, I watch TV while they are working on me and if you want earphones for music, they are available. I figured, oh boy, this is going to cost $$$$$$$, but their prices are very fair. The whole staff is wonderful and my dentist is a real looker ;) but so sweet and pain-free. All my family and friends who went to my old dentist have switched to this one because of my recommendation and they are all thrilled with the dental care and sensitivity of the staff.

Penny - I just checked my medical records and Alan and I aren't due for our colonoscopy until 2010, every 5 years. I was petrified the first time but it really isn't a big deal. I just wish that everyone over the age of 50 would have one, it is soooooooooo important. Good luck!
