Topa I made that yummy looking Corn and Blueberry Salad that you posted last week and it was great! :Yum: I added a few Grapes and Ranier Cherries. It would have put Ed in the hospital to eat it, and I don't make most of what we used to eat anymore for that reason, it's too much work for just myself usually, but that salad looked so good that I treated myself to making it. The Spicy Mango Dressing was delish too! :ok:

topa I fixed the link above but here it is again

http://www.thewalkingsite.com/10000steps.html

joanie told us about it - apparently it's believed to maintain your current weight you should walk 5,000 steps a day - if you want to lose weight / better health - you need to walk towards 10,000 steps a day goal.

I was only walking like 1,000 a day when I first did the pedometer :o shocked I was but then I realized bathroom at work is right outside our office - back and forth to copier and boss is really only a few steps here and there ...... WHOA so now I go long way around and take big walk at lunch, etc. I'm now doing around 4,500 a day ...... working on upping the number for sure!

well we took a few hours off this afternoon to do some caching = something we haven't done in a while :( I think without looking - we got 14 finds! 1 we lost to a street fair/too many people and 1 to a bunch of folks sitting on the bench where we believe another hide was - oh well - for another day.

I'll post some photos - we found a couple of really clever hides today LOL

Love the Zedonk! rofl I once had the pleasure of patting a thoroughbred Clydesdale cross colt, all legs.... :)^ <3

Went to Balmoral Beach yesterday for Food and Wine festival. The wine was so-so, in fact, 2 out of the 5 samples I had I tipped into the grass, blah!

It was a beautiful day though, and Balmoral Beach is such a beautiful area.

A Visit to Lily and Hope

Lily & Hope Play - August 8, 2010

The highlight of this office day was a visit to Lily and Hope to change Lily's GPS unit. The pictures tell the story. They were back in the area where they had fed on chokecherries earlier - and there are still plenty of berries. Both bears seemed calm and content.

Part of the joy of this day was reveling in the great job Corelyn and the teachers are doing putting together an educational outreach program.

Another joy was finding some of the ice cream cake left in the freezer at the Bear Center… yum!

Still another was seeing the power of the Lily and Hope fans putting our local Bear Head State Park in the lead with over 300,000 votes in the Coca-Cola contest, nearly twice that of second place. We're not sure how this will benefit Lily, Hope, and June, but we do want the park to be the best it can be, and we are sure that the help these bears have brought to the park will not go unnoticed.

We sent out a press release letting people know the benefits the research bears' fans are bringing to the area and asking hunters to spare all 13 radio-collared bears.

Thank you for all you do. People are recognizing the importance of your dedication and determination.
