oh Carole how nice is that

well after eating zeppoeles (those fried dough balls sp?) - and a big fat milkshake yesterday BUT countered with lots of walking and behaving otherwise - 10 lbs still gone! woo hoo and staying gone!

sunny here and a little humid - temps to head to low 90's and higher tomorrow with humidity to go along with it grrr

we did geo cache a little yesterday afternoon - park and grab
I'm packed for the upcoming weekend architecture trip
ES on the other hand - has stuff laying around everywhere ;)

he's convinced we won't be able to get it in one bag - mr. super hiker and packer - duh..... they've asked us to bring carry on - no checked and so I told him 1 bag cause we'll have the computer and his cpap so.... don't need to drag a 2nd bag AND it's only 3 days 1 of which is the day we're going and already have those clothes on

whew - starting to plan christmas trip home to OH - usually by now I have tickets in hand but some factors are keeping us in limbo - will DS be moved by then? and how will that affect our family gathering ..... hmmmm

guess I'll just pick my dates - get my tickets and worry about it when the time comes - it'll work out!

so what's everyone up to! staying cool - enjoying the summer as it begins to wind down........

Harpo, I read your link to the 1,0000 step walking program.
I can see you in your cute gym shorts and your IWS T shirt! :D
5 miles is a long way to walk, good for you all who are on the program. :ok:
Then I was wondering what your plans for the winter walking season?
I remember using the WMCA and the local colleges when I was an eastie.
I didn't think of the track season until we decided to take Zoey up to our
favorite Ojai track at Thacher School.

I just sponsored a friend who walked for " City of Hope " hospital over the weekend.
The Farm Sanctuary’s fundraising walk is coming up but I think it's the same weekend
as the fledge party or I would have walked it and invited Kris, it's in SaMo and I don't think you
have to walk any particular distance. I just wanted my picture taken. :D :clk:

Deb - I commented on your slideshow last night, very clever caches, must have been lots of fun.

Weather here is okay right now, a bit humid, but thunderstorms predicted this afternoon. Alan is playing golf with DD and DS this morning so hope the weather stays nice. :X:

ES having trouble packing, that's a joke, he's so good at that especially after all the camping trips to New Mexico.

Christmas plans already in progress, you are such a good planner, well I know that, you did our whole California trip and it couldn't have been better. <3

Tonight another friend and I are taking Doreen out for dinner for her special birthday which is tomorrow. I love girls night out, we have so much fun :**:

Rachel and John emailed me last night they are having
a great time on their honeymoon in Kaui, Hawaii. :Hugs:
I'm afraid they might want to move there, <3 <3 :) :)

DIL sent photos of Summer 2010 Jerusalem and I thought I'd post
a couple I thought you would like to see the background of Old Jerusalm City.
The kids are cute too. :)

The Little Meerkat That Could
Photographer Sophie L. Miller caught a Newquay Zoo baby Meerkat struggling to get up the side of this slope. According to Miller, "the little fella was causing a lot of commotion; it kept trying to climb up that little dirt slope, and was getting quite distressed..."

Meerkats are highly social critters and never stop looking out for their own. Here below we see an adult from the group offering up a treat moments later. Miller said of the adult, "She kept setting a berry down by the baby's face, in an attempt to feed it, only to have it roll back down the slope. The adult meerkat would then pick the berry up and try again." One day this helpless fuzzy friend will grow up and return the favor, but for now, "It takes a village..."

now if I could just convince the driver to stop at

House on a Rock - we toured it on our first visit to Taliesin!
It's goofy but wonderful and well worth the stop and time
