It's gonna be another blazing HOT day in store for us and then the thunderstorms are coming back. Hope that doesn't include any tornadoes like they had just South of us in NDAK yesterday

A new ice cream van with tasty treats specifically for canines will have man's best friend howling with delight.![]() Instead of offering the traditional vanilla whip cones topped with a flake, these frozen feasts contain gammon and chicken ice cream - complete with a crunchy canine biscuit bone. A team of scientists investigated the perfect combination of temperature, texture and taste, ensuring the treats would be delicious to dogs and completely safe. They came up with two flavours - 'dog eat hog world' - a gammon and chicken sorbet topped with a biscuit and served in a cone - and 'canine cookie crunch' - a combination of mixed dog biscuits and ice cream. The K99 van can be found in parks this summer and, rather than the traditional chimes, the van will be playing the theme tune to Scooby Doo. It makes its debut appearance at The Boomerang Pets Party in Regents Park, London, on Saturday. Spokesperson for The Boomerang Pets Party Sally Bezant said: 'Every year Brits consume an average of around 50 ice creams per person, with the majority of these eaten in the summer months. 'All the while, man's best friend has to make do with a bowl of water to cool down. And, with 10.5 million dogs in the UK, that's a lot of pets missing out.' Head chef behind the K99's recipes Ceric Nale said: 'When it came to designing the recipes for the K99s, we wanted to make sure we had the most exciting flavour and texture combinations." Early results show that dogs have a big appetite for the novelty treats. The ice creams are available for a 99p donation to Berkshire Search and Rescue Dogs. More Pics Siobhan would really love these. Maybe Ozzie can enlighten us on what gammon is ![]() |

Good morning Topa, I didn't know about the Farm Sanctuary Walk in Santa Monica. I get their mail but not their email. The website doesn't say what day but if before our projected departure date I'll try to check it out. I couldn't make the Fledge Party, even if still here. Here's some news from Crop Circle Country that didn't make the Eleven O'Clock News, though Ed would be if he knew I was spending time calling attention to the criminal work of the human hoaxers who have so confused the non-manmade Crop Circle subject, the history of which goes back hundreds if not thousands of years. There haven't been anything but hoaxes in England for several years but the whole hoaxers, Believers, merchandisers driven "Silly Season", as the more serious researchers call it, goes on every year like a Passion Play re-enacting phenomenal events that mainly happened over the last Solar Cycle and end of the Millennium. This one is a "rehash" of meaningless elements from past years, is overly embellished as nonmanmade ones never are, and bears the design style of a known hoaxing group we know. We're among the only ones to state such views in attempts to inform on the facts as we understand them and the "T-Shirt sellers" can't stand us for it. This is an angry farmer cutting out a huge hoax circle before hundreds of people invade his land and trample more crop than already lost to the fake crop circle. Their harvesting machines can't pick up the flattened Wheat but some farmers go with the flow and post an "Honesty Box" at the entrance to the field for donations from people who visit the circle, and actually make more than the Wheat would have if harvested. Some farmers are very bitter and angry about the vandalism though and immediately cut it out of the field. Unfortunately some amazing genuine Circles have been destroyed right away too. The people watching are no doubt Believers who are bemoaning the loss of an irreplaceable "miracle" or "E.T. communication". It is neither. The only one to get good aerials of it before it was destroyed is one of the most notorious hoaxers. ![]() And a wide shot before the farmer started. The Pewsey White Horse is on the hill in the background. It's one of the seven famous historic White Horses in the area around the Pewsey Vale. British Heritage maintains them by keeping the underlying chalk layer cleared of dirt and plant growth. Pewsey is very close to where we met and the village we're planning to settle near.
