Harpo, 17 weddings in year, that's is too many, maybe he said 17 weddings in the last couple of years. Heard the compliment second from DH, Anyway it was a nice compliment. It was what I call a " party wedding ". Arsty, I think the e-letters do help. They seem to help for Defenders of Wildlife. OK, really must fly now. :soar: |

If anyone is planning on going to India for surgery, this might change your mind.... A new superbug from India could spread around the world -- in part because of medical tourism -- and scientists say there are almost no drugs to treat it ![]() The new drug-resistant Super Bug NDM-1 has been detected in Vancouver and some parts of the US. They have lots of cases in the UK and apparently it is always fatal. One common thread with all those cases is that the patients all had recent surgeries in India and Pakistan. |

Penny - I saw Jackie Evancho on the news last night, she has the voice of an adult, absolutely amazing. Apparently she made a CD a while back and it is a #1 seller now. |

The voice on little Jackie just sounds like it is coming from someone else. She is amazing. Topa, thanks for all the wedding news, I love reading everything about it. Ian's GF Allison has been in many weddings because she has a lot of friends and relatives who ask her. She's like that movie about 28 dresses or whatever it was called. When they went on the cruise she had lots of pretty formal dresses to choose from. Thanks for all the great creature feature pictures today. Penny, saw that on the news about the superbug, yikes. I thought of you yesterday when there was a segment on the news about wheat prices going up dramatically. One interview was with a baker in Winnipeg from the shop High Tea Bakery. Everything looked ..... poppyseed cookies, traditional shortbread, Earl Grey cookies ...... Carole, it's unbelievable how much stuff can be crammed into vanities. We went through that a couple of years ago. It will all look so nice when the installer is finished. Wish they could have figured out what happened to the RS chicks. So sad about K-07, he was still hanging around the nest and looking for help from his parents, similar to Limuw. Deb, enjoy your vacation with ES. I'm looking forward to seeing all the pictures.

Carole Jackie Evancho's debut album is called Prelude to a Dream and features mainly covers of songs such as Andrea Bocelli's "Con Te Partiro" and "The Prayer", Josh Groban's "To Where You Are", Martina McBride's "Concrete Angel", and a cover of "Amazing Grace" plus Schubert's "Ave Maria" among others. She also plays the violin and piano I am going to get that CD

of note (a teensie) article in our paper yesterday: The World Health Organization declared the swine flu pandemic officially over yesterday, months after many national authorities started canceling vaccine orders and shutting down telephone hotlines as the disease ebbed from the headlines. |

Rachel looks beautiful in her dress from any angle. They certainly had lots of fun at their wedding. The cake looks delicious, people must have gobbled it up. The flowers are so bright and colourful, and the lights are lovely. Welcome to our newest member, Rainbow, plus all the other folks who have joined recently. June is in town to visit her family. We are going out to the Registry Theatre tonight where her son works to see Cabaret. Our seats are at tables right at the front instead of the regular seats farther back. I'm nervous about driving and the downtown parking but I'm sure we'll manage. Should I take beanie eagle?
