I'm surprised Dexter let whoever brought the fish head get so close. Sweet video of Dexter feeding, but his little shoulders look like skin and bone. Looks like tide is out or an ad for global warming. Don't you think once there were fish flopping in the tide pools and plenty of fish for the eaglets and the seals to feed on? |

Ely's Favorite Bear: Pregnant Again? ![]() 'Lovely Lily' Image by Jeri by KBJR News 1 August 16, 2010 Bear researchers say Lily is showing all the signs that she is pregnant again. If Lily does give birth she will have a mixed age litter, a rarely documented phenomenon and would now be able to be researched closely. Lynn Rogers says there is no way to tell for sure if Lily is pregnant until she goes into the den for hibernation but does promise that either way a second den cam will be there watching. Topa he couldn't really fly and he was in a weakened state. I'm so glad Doug found him and gave him some fish to eat before they caught him. The fish in the tide pools are usually midshipmen which are very hard to pull apart and eat. The parents usually have to do that for the Come to think of it, nobody mentioned seeing the parents around at all so maybe they were not feeding him since he fell out of the nest

August 15, 2010 - Lily and Hope find each other again ![]() ![]() Lily and Hope have been separated for 2 nights. Lily picks up Hope's scent and searches for her. Meanwhile, Hope has picked up Lily's fresh scent and frantically searches for her—even swimming along a shore in her search. They finally reunite and move away into a cedar swamp. Both seem relaxed. Lily blows and swats 3 times when Hope attempts to nurse. Hope is persistent and finally nurses while Lily is standing. Lily does not resist, but neither does she cooperate. After nursing, Hope falls sounds asleep and Lily grooms her. Lily and Hope Reconnect (6:02) This video was not posted until last night. The separation was not discussed until the two were already back together. I think this is because they didn't want to alarm all the followers of Lily and Hope unnecessarily. |

Penny - Beautiful video of Hope and Lily reuniting. I bet that when they were separated some time ago, Lily was on a honeymoon with her beau and that's when she got pregnant, if she is pregnant. Should be a very interesting hibernation period in the den with Hope and a new litter if this is the case.

Carole I can't wait for what happens in the den this winter. Lily will not kick Hope out and make her den by herself. Sue said that when Hope was totally on her own that she had already checked out some dens for the winter, so if that happens she will know where to go....the bears seem to have a photographic memory of places they have been to

![]() Hi everybody. It's a nice day here and I've been trying to get outside. Brynn seems to have an inner time clock and wants to be walked every two hours. Since I'm trying to carry on with the 10,000 steps (although I'm only around the 6,000 - 6,500 mark I think) I've been going on all the walkabouts with Brynn and DH. The disappointing part is that there hasn't been any weight loss. This entire saga of Lily and Hope has been fascinating. Thanks so much for posting all the updates, Penny. Every one of their photos could be turned into a mug, T-shirt, screen saver and so on. I've been saving them all in a folder, no idea why since I could find the pictures online. I just like having my own. I'm glad they've decided to rescue young Decker. He looked to be in pretty bad shape. I thought that the parents would feed him even if he'd fallen from the nest but that didn't seem to happen. I totally agree about the Calgary Stampede. I refuse to watch it on TV. Those poor aqua donkeys!!! Topa, great sign .... 'pick on somebody your own size'. Robert took my car in for an oil change. The mechanic always checks the car all over, this time he found that my car needs new struts. There goes my budget, cost will be a bit under $700.00. |

![]() -slideshow of Migaloo, the white whale, off the coast of Australia http://tools.cairns.com.au/photo_gallery/photo_gallery_popup.php?category_id=71&offset=0- photos by Marc McCormack "Migaloo" is a local celebrity. The full-grown adult male may or may not be a true albino, but he is so revered that he has his own set of laws protecting him -- any boat that gets within 500 meters (1640 feet) of him is punishable by a fine of thousands of dollars. From the first confirmed sighting of Migaloo in 1991 until 2008 he was thought to be the only white humpback out of a population of about 68,000 worldwide. Then came "Bahloo," a white calf with black spots on its head and tail. Bahloo swims in the same waters off the Great Barrier Reef as Migaloo, which has led to speculation that the young one is his offspring. That would make sense, given incredible rarity of white humpbacks. But the second Bahloo sighting (and by some accounts, the first confirmed sighting) came only just last month, making confirmation difficult. full story and video http://news.discovery.com/earth/pair-of-rare-white-whales-spotted-off-australia.html |

Isn't that white whale just a supremely gorgous creature? I hope Migaloo and Bahloo stay very far away from any of those nasty whaling ships
