He’s gone from Middle-Earth, playing Merry in the Lord of the Rings trilogy, to the middle of nowhere, playing Charlie Pace on ABC’s hit drama Lost, and now actor Dominic Monaghan is appearing in a new wildlife ad for PETA. In the ad, Dominic encourages everyone to “Share the World,” saying, “Your actions can and do have an impact on the natural environment around you. Please consider a humane solution to wildlife issues in your community or in your own back yard.” ![]() ![]() Become an IWS Supporting Member Learn More About Becoming an IWS Member. ![]() Name a Penguin Chick in New England! Since late May, the New England Aquarium has hatched eleven healthy African Penguin chicks in their special "hatching room." Having grown steadily since then, they are now ready for their public debut in the main exhibit. ![]() http://www.zooborns.com/zooborns/2010/08/a-pile-of-penguin-chicks-in-new-england.html |

![]() Kibbled both right today , it's about time.Kudos to Dominic Monaghan for standing up for wildlife issues. Unfortunately, people seem to listen to movie stars rather than the average Joe who lobbies for these important issues. I hope PETA is successful in their campaign.

Yes, Celebs and Athletes are the role models with the most visability. It's great when one of them stands up for animals and our wildlands. Zoey and I have to start our day early. C U Later

"You must see this eye-popping footage of a recent rare close encounter with a humpback whale off the coast of BC's spectacular Great Bear Rainforest. Whales like this one and many other coastal species are at grave risk from Enbridge's proposed pipeline to pump oil from the Tar Sands across BC and into supertankers in Kitimat, before plying some of the world's most treacherous waters en route to Asia. This awesome creature approached a boat carrying among others filmmaker Damien Gillis, and proceeded to interact playfully with the crew for 45 minutes! Watch highlights of this amazing and unique west coast experience - caught on camera." http://thecanadian.org/k2/item/215-whale-video Make sure you have your sound turned up and watch full screen, wow. |
