Artsy, Great update on the bears last night. " Hope " weighs a whooping 58 lbs.

I love the story of " Cal " the released bear roaming freely through the dense forest. :ok:

Many Mongooses for Fort Wayne Children's Zoo
Fort Wayne Children's Zoo's Banded Mongoose baby boom continues! Five baby Banded Mongooses, born on August 2, made their exhibit debut this week. Combined with seven babies born in November, six babies born in March, and our original seven adults, Fort Wayne now has twenty five Mongooses in the colony.

Memorials to Animals
by Colleen Patrick-Goudreau
Posted: Wed, 28 Jan 2009

Because memorials aren’t really a lamentation of death as much as they are a celebration of life, I want to emphasize that this episode is not at all sad. In it, I read several poems by celebrated writers (Robinson Jeffers, John Galsworthy, Eugene O'Neill, William Cowper), who memorialize their lost animal companions with whom they lived and loved. May you find joy and solace in their words.

I hope she puts on much more weight before she goes into the hibernation phase :X:

Topa those updates are a big pain to post on here because all the punctuation marks have to be changed. For some reason this board does not recognize the dashes, apostrophes and quotation marks and will print computer gibberish in their place. I have to change them all and keep pre-viewing to make sure I have caught them all

Arsty, When I copy and paste some of my posts I have the same problem...

UNTIL I hit the POST REPLY.

For some reason the POST REPLY fixes the jibberish.

At least for me it works..
