Penny, I loved the Moon photos. Amazing! They reminded me of this animation that I had in Photobucket. ![]() I'll also miss Pond Critters, but am sure Maya will more than fill in for them. Talking about Crop Circles the other day inspired me to look for a pic of the one in Lompoc in 1994 to share. I couldn't find the disc with the color pics I took of of it but did find the news clipping, which is dated September 1, 1994, making this weekend the anniversary of it's appearance. In the weeks before it appeared I had two dreams about a Crop Circle that contained most of the major details of it, the location, and other events previewed in them, including: "Heart shaped Crop Circle that appeared in the dream 'upright and close', almost as if on a Billboard (this was a steep hillside, unlike most Crop Circles that need an aerial P.O.V. to discern the shape), weedy edge of town location with litter on the roadside, unpleasant altercation with the ex who was the only person I could get to drive me to it at the time." I noted the dreams and these details in a notebook that I still have. So many details matched the dreams that they seemed at least clairvoyant of the event (like many other dreams I've had), if not validating of the Crop Circles authenticity, even though it's a credibility stretching heart shape. Plants from it were biophysically analyzed by a scientist who found the same cell and stem changes he's found in other apparently non-manmade Crop Circles.

Perth's Newest Primate: "Don't Palm Us Off!" Perth Zoo is calling on the community to take action in a campaign to mandate the labelling of palm oil on all food products. The call-to-action came today as a four-week-old critically endangered Sumatran Orangutan, made her debut. The as-yet-unnamed female orangutan was born at 10:40am on 20 October to 39-year-old mother, Puteri. The infant weighed just under 2 kg at birth. ![]()

Kris, thanks for sharing your dream, and the heart-shaped crop circle. I noticed on the same page that divers had heard a mysterious heartbeat in the ocean, too, at the same time. Penny, what a creative photographer, very cleverly done. The moon images are so peaceful just to look at. It's like a bedtime story. Topa, that photo of Barry with the boys is perfect for his avatar. The 'Creation' movie had a lot of things in it to think about. Poor little Jenny and her story, along with his daughter's TB. What a terrible disease. Interesting how his 'Origin of Species' was sold out the day it was released. I did a bit of research to find out more about his comment to his wife about maybe they shouldn't have married. They were first cousins and he knew there could be genetic problems in their children, weaknesses passed on by both parents. They actually had ten children, three of whom passed away. I hate ironing ..... back to work. |

Thanks again to all of you for welcoming Maya. She is sure keeping Alan and myself busy. Last night I put her in her crate, closed the door, she whimpered for 5 minutes and we didn't hear a thing until I got up at 6:00 a.m. We kept the crate in our bedroom. This morning she went to Pet Smart and then to Walmart, I want to get her used to the car too as all my other yorkies got car sick for awhile and so far Maya is good. Tonight 6 friends are coming to meet her and have dinner with us. I made it real easy, bought a lasagne, made a caesar salad and garlic bread and have brownies I baked on Friday. Easy dinner in the family room, buffet style with paper plates. Maya comes first and they all understand as they are all doggie people. Will try to check in again later tonight but never know , I must get this housebreaking thingie done and so far she made outside, only one accident which was my fault, wasn't fast enough.Take care peeps, you are all so special to me.

my MIL doesn't really decorate for the BBQ she has each year so last year and this - I bring bowls - fill with water - and "float" assorted flowers in them last year I used small clear bowls that I have but while at the story the other night, they had wonderful plastic bowls - bright cheery colors - 60 cents each so I bought a couple of blue - green and orange - decided to "float" white daisies and red roses should have taken the photo last night but when cleaning up - I put all the flowers into a big plastic lid that was left on the table so that my MIL would have them yet to enjoy today,etc.....ES took a picture when he went over a bit ago to help put the tables, chairs and canopies away......

Deb I love your beautiful floating flower bowls. I used to do the same when I had more access to home grown flowers, and had a Camellia bush in the yard. I forgot how lovely they look floating. Remember those water filled Victorian flower globes? I used to have one I found in a Thrift Store that I kept fresh Roses in, sort of like this one.![]() Cheryl yes, wasn't that Heartbeat story a synchronous one to the Crop Circle news? I never learned what that sound might have been. Maybe Navy Sonar? They denied it tho. The Circle was near the town where the flower fields Jill posted the other day are. Lompoc, California grows flower seeds in their acres of flower fields. They're an incredible huge colorful quilt on the land in the Spring!

Thanks for your info on name and location Sunnyland/Carol! DEb, sounds like the BBQ was great fun, and great idea about the flower setting (might try that next week at a friend's BBQ I've been invited to thanks!) Did I tell you about the BBQ I bought off ebay? Practically brand new, got it for half a new one would cost. When I went to pick it up, it shocked me to see it was natural gas. I thought it was cylindar gas type!!!! Fortuitously, my plumber/gas guy was around last week and he is going to install a natural gas outlet for the patio area! What a fiasco! Carole, how cute, a weelcome party for Maya. Lasagna and brownies, Cheryl, I just started reading a book called Darwin's Armada, how the findings in the SoPacific changed his views. Dry reading but interesting. My Monday, better do some work! |
