Have a nice walk Topa. It's going to be over 91 here today and humid. Alan is going to the office for a bit, then going to buy special cookies for Maya and finally coming home to install a doggie gate into the kitchen. This one will have a swing door so I don't have to keep removing the gate. |

![]() I was hoping to see good news from Jill about Katie. Sending positive thoughts for her safe return. We're off to the doctor to hear the results of Ed's small intestine Barium test. His worst pain comes from there and they must be able to see what's going on there. ![]() Have a happy Monday.

![]() Good morning, everybody. It's stifling hot here, too. We watched the weather report and it's downright chilly in San Francisco compared to here. Hello to little Maya. It looks like she is making herself at home, Carole. I hope you have a chance to tell us how you found her sometime. Did you put your name in with someone? I always like the stories of how people get their dogs, and if they chose one from a group how was that particular puppy 'the one'. Jill that you are able to find Katie today. Your tomato plant looks like an Olympic athlete, it's so big and strong, wow.Kibbled for a change.

Cheryl - How we got Maya is funny. Many months ago Alan said, it's time to get a dog which really startled me. I ignored his comment and realized he must be kidding as we can't take a dog to our place in Florida. More dog talk followed and about a week ago Alan started to send me websites of yorkie breeders. I wasn't too impressed as most of the dogs were show dogs and all I really wanted was a loving pet. Finally he sent me the website of a very small home breeder in the Peterborough area and I called her. She had 2 yorkies on her site that were for adoption and the one I said I was interested in was sold that day. We set up an appointment to meet the other puppy on Saturday, immediately fell in love and brought her home with us. Fate played a big part as she has bonded with both of us, is very smart for a puppy and is a good girl. I'm happy I never got to see the other puppy as Maya is now the of our life. It just happened so quickly I never had a chance to even think about it.I went through all the bags of our doggie things, washed everything, cleaned the cages, and a new life has begun. ![]() I my Daddy's lap....

Maya that's kind of how Trin came to our home - we had agreed to wait until we moved from our apartment - it wasn't long before gary started talking puppy! but we did a lot of remodeling soo on hold again - we finally went out at Thanksgiving visiting all the shelters we could find and we discovered a puppy but he was in a 3 day wait in case the owners showed up - we put our names down and waited - BUT we did notice the puppy right next door to #1 - cute cute cute - wrote down her # (just in case)got a call - #1's family showed up and claimed him so I asked about #2 - she was still there and had another day of waiting but would then be available - and the rest is history - the one we thought we wanted turned out wasn't the case - it was #2 and she's been the best! so it was meant to be Carole

Oh, boy, I just love the dog stories!!!! Yes, Maya is yours, Carole, and Alan's, too. The dog you need comes into your life (read that somewhere, not my idea ). It's fun to read about you washing all the toys and so on. What a surprise for all of us, too, since you didn't hint around about Alan changing his mind! You must be having so much fun with your little girl! She was meant to be left there for you.Trinity was meant for you and Gary, too, Deb. She had your number! When our little Italian Greyhound passed away we could not find her breeder any more .... phone number on the business card I had kept no longer worked. We looked all over for another IG breeder, no luck except to drive all the way to Quebec somewhere. Then we found a whippet breeder out in the country not too far away but she didn't have any puppies left, they had all been sold. Then about two weeks later she called us and said that she did have a puppy after all. He had such perfect markings that she had kept him to be one of her show dogs. His father had won Best in Breed at the Westminster show in NY. She had sent her female to breed with him. Anyway after a vet check-up he told her that the puppy had an undescended testicle (happens to whippets) which would have to be removed. Show dogs have to have their testicles, so she couldn't show him. We went just to have a look and that was it .... fell in love and took Brynn home a few days later. He was 13 weeks old. |

Jill, that's terrific news about Katie! She must have been frightened. Now you can breathe easier. You must have been so worried.
