Good morning Peeps :}^

I'm on a roll, 3 days in a row :chk: :chk: both right and guessed at some. :o

Very hot and humid here 91 degrees.

Taking Maya to the vet for her check-up later this morning. She has been such a good girl with training and housebreaking but gets into lots of trouble and chews on everything. rofl

Good morning peeps. I sure am enjoying the Maya posts Carole.
You and Alan are such good doggie parents.
Artsy, It was interesting reading that the Black Bears heart rates slow down before they hibernate.
They still look like they're going to a birthday party with their pink duct tape.

I clocked how far my new walk is in the car yesterday 7.6 miles.
Now that the wedding is over, DD got her job, Dan and his family are happy,
empty nest season and I'm broke. :D , I'm thinking of doing a little jogging, walking
training to keep my mind on something new.
One foot in front of the other, lets see where it takes me.
C U later

Good morning. Sorry I didn't make it back yesterday. We were so discouraged by the doctor visit because he now wants to redo part of the colon exam :8O: , do another 3 hour test and have him see a Rheumatologist, because he's finally figuring out at least some of the intestinal problems are caused by his autoimmune disease, and those (according to the TV ads) "potentially liver transplant requiring" side effects meds are probably what that doc will want to try. :( . :hair: :'( Just what he was hoping to not have to consider. The psoriasis on his legs looks like someone cooked them with a blowtorch and it's an outward manifestation of what's happening inside, but it's more like a reaction to eating most anything, than a recognizable thing like Crohn's Disease or UC. For example, if he eats any kind of Fish his leg skin breaks open and bleeds, weeps and burns within 10 minutes. :'( Sorry for all the TMI, it's just so complicated and has us :hair: :hair: .

Jill so glad Katie came home. :><: Scares like that are one reason I'm an advocate of indoor Cats, who tend to live longer and not hurt other creatures. :ok:

I probably won't be around much this week, too much to catch up on and do after all the days at the doc and medical appts. the past couple weeks. :(

I sent that adorable Fishing Cats video to all my cat lover friends. That was so cute to watch. Did you notice that their paws were webbed?

Kibbled :chk: :chk: both RIGHT and I guessed for both
Maybe that should be my new strategy rofl

Remember Decker from the Hornby Beach?

Well, now he is in a flight cage with Brig, Niner and Rebecca learning how to 'fly' like an :soar:

"Next, we need to get weights again and give them another dose of antiparasitic. Decker may not be able to release with the others with tail feathers missing. Next plan will be to transfer to NIWRA for more exercise in a larger flight pen. Hoping to release back to Hornby by October."

Penny and Topa's DIL, those muffins look delicious, I want more than one. I think I missed that recipe. Last night I made rhubarb crisp. It's almost all gone, think I will have more for my lunch.

Well done to Alan on installing the doggie gate. We should have had several of those when Brynn was little as he charged all over the house getting into everything. How did you choose Maya's name, Carole? A puppy is like having a baby again, no time for makeup for sure but you didn't need it anyway.

Kris, I'm sorry that you and Ed didn't get much help in the way of a solution or solutions to Ed's health issues. I hope the doctor can think of another medication or something instead of the one that could cause liver problems. Ed doesn't need any more problems to deal with. :Hugs:

I'm so glad that Decker is getting the care he needs right now, plus he has some buddies.

Topa, the kibble story about Happy Jack just had me :'( . I liked the way Halo donated kibble to the shelter where the woman who found him had read his 'missing dog' information. That was just a great story. <3 Then I forgot to go back and click on the cat kibble question, will do that now.

Sunny, good luck with getting your camera issues solved.

DH has gone to visit his mother so I'd better get moving and get something done (besides my farm LOL).

Kris, I hope they can find the problem with Eds colon,
so they start the correct treatment soon.

Artsy, I snagged the photo of the muffins and posted the photo on DILs facebook page.
She'll love that you made them and liked them enough to share a photo. Thanks :Hugs:

Ok, Yesterday while walking I thought geez this is starting to feel really good.
So I clocked the distance yesterday and today decided to time myself.
You know if you challenge yourself against the clock you'll push yourself,
which is what I did, so this is my best time. 7.6 miles in 1hr 48 min. makes 14.21 minutes a mile.
I'm very happy with that because there is a 1/2 mile hill on the walk.
It's a beautiful street walk and I don't have to look for rattle snakes so I can have fun. :)

CDN, did you say Farm :D

Maya had a great vet check, all is well and he was very impressed with her personality. He thought she was smart, alert, and had a great disposition. She is the first dog that I have taken to the vet who never shook with terror. She kissed the vet and he gave her a cookie. We go back in 3 weeks for another booster shot and then she will be spayed between 6 - 7 months old.

Cheryl - The name Maya is just a name I liked but when I told the breeder her new name, she laughed as one of her former puppies was named Maya by her.

This is a new vet I am going to and just for the record, he is Dr. McDreamy  , wow!
