Eaglepedia Revisited April 19, 2008 The first few weeks of life in the nest consist of fighting between nest mates. The larger of the nest mates has an advantage in getting the most food from the parent. The parent eagle will tear up prey and offer it to the first mouth it sees. Younger chicks can succumb to parental neglect and physical and psychological abuse meted out by the older nest mate. It appears that the parent does not interfere on behalf of the weaker nestling and will feed the nestling that is the largest, most aggressive and most demanding. ![]() ![]() (3 day old chicks fighting in brooder at IWS) http://www.nationaleaglecenter.org/breedin...ingHabitats.htm Visit Eaglepedia DISCLAIMER: Information here has been gathered in good faith from the internet and cannot be guaranteed to be totally accurate. |

Good morning, everybody. Beautiful Pawnee prayer with your graphics to match, Jeanne. I like how you mix colour with the sepia tones. The font you chose suits the words so well. Enjoy your day, everyone. Robert is working and Mia won't settle down so I'm going to log off and play with her for awhile. Maybe then she'll sleep so I can harvest my farm.

Carole, thanks for your suggestion about taking Mia for a drive every once in awhile. We're going to try that! She's sleeping right now. I threw a ball up and down the hall for awhile and took her outside just to walk around and wear off some energy. The colour in the Duke screen caps is gorgeous. The Carolina eaglet seems to want to be on Broadway!
