Good morning, everybody! I'm all caught up on the Lily updates. Thanks for posting them for us, Penny. What an adorable photo of Faith! I watched the video of the family three times, just loved it. Penny and Linda, thank you also for making your thoughts known online regarding the whooping crane killer. I know that OM will appreciate everyone's support. |

Today is John Muir's birthday. He was born on April 21st, 1838. He is credited with being the founder of the conservation movement. http://www.johnmuir.org/ painting of John Muir by Colleen VeynaThis is me in Muir Woods, California, in September 2008. I can't really explain it in words, but that old tree was very much a living being that I could feel when I touched it.

Cheryl, great pic of you and the tree in Muir Woods. That's such a beautiful place. Native Americans traditionally stand with their backs pressed against a tree to energize themselves with the spirit of the tree. I really let the prosecutors have it about that insulting fine! Lady and 7Y have their third egg! They had three last year and two hatched, so hopefully this year will be successful too. This is a video of her laying egg #2.About our plumbing problem and nasty landlord: We didn't press the shower issue with him or the agency until after the date passed that he could end our initial lease, which it now has, and we have another six months at least. He thinks he intimidated us out of protesting it but we realized what a jerk he was and didn't want to have to move again so soon if we pressed the shower issue. Now that his option date is passed for ending our lease we're insisting with the agency that it be made functional. Our lease is based on having two working showers and we'll have them or a rent reduction. After how absolutely unpleasant he was over it we can't feel at home here and are looking for a more hospitable place in the meantime. Having a license and a car will make it a lot easier to search for one. The glorious blossoming of Spring is such a consolation to the challenges we've been dealing with since moving here. We took the bus to a little nearby crossroads called Wilcot yesterday, which is where I stayed at a B&B in 1995, the year Ed and I met in Honeystreet, which is a bit further down the road from Wilcot. We walked home through the Wilcot Woods and along the Avon canal that winds past Pewsey, but poor Ed paid for it with terrible joint pain and exhaustion for the rest of the day. The bigger trees, like this gnarly old Oak, aren't fully leafed out yet but the Summer like weather has everything bursting into bloom. I took pics of a lot of the wildflowers too but haven't had a chance to Photobucket them yet.![]() ![]() ![]()
