"Knowledge is the true organ of sight, not the eyes." ~ Panchatantra ~ ![]() The IWS has let that concept be the focus of their direction since 2002 when they set out to restore the Bald Eagle population in the Channel Islands. ![]() Since that time they have developed a body of knowledge that nine years later, is still being built upon. Even the concept of having cameras trained upon an eagle's nest was new and innovative. ![]() Today, the public has been invited to share in the wonders of the lives of these majestic creatures, and to share in the behaviors of Bald Eagles in the wild. ![]() You can find more information about how you can help the Channel Island Bald Eagles and the IWS, by clicking on the following links and contributing Today through June 30, 2011. You DO NOT Have To Be A Forum Member To Contribute. Any visitor to the forum, any observer of the nests, any lover of Eagles, you are all welcome to help support the IWS effort! Great photos from the archives Michele. I don't think I've ever seen any of those. Looks like Dave Garcelon in the brown hat climbing up to the nest. Dr. Sharpe and Dave Garcelon are too young to call those photos vintage, but they look vintage. Great message to the viewers and where did you find that cool text?

![]() Good Saturday Mornin' Peeps...... Carole, Thank You for posting Eagleland each day.....I sooooo look forward to seeing it......and that capture of Carolina Mom and Dad just made my heart ache.....talk about body language. Thank You Topa, Deb and Carole for all of your kind words.....they mean a lot to me. Topa, I found those pix the very first year we did the NAC together......they're pix of Banding Day of the West End Nest. I had a bunch of pix that I had harvested from the IWS that first year, and I knew I had them buried somewhere. I found the font on Font Xplorer. Not all of them work on the CHIL and IWS websites, but I just kept clicking until I found one that worked......kinda hit and miss technique. Deb, I love that pix of Avalon at sunset.....especially the rocket that's being launched in the background.....not a rocket??? Shoot....yeah, it's probably just a plain ole plane taking off from LAX or Long Beach.
