Got some sad news this morning, my BIL passed away early this morning. We were supposed to go to Montreal this Friday for 3 days and then head to NY to visit with SIL but now all plans are changed. It looks as though we will be heading right to NY but still waiting news from SIL as to the funeral, etc. It really was a blessing, he had Alzheimer's and was in a Veteran's facility with the best of care. RIP Morty You were a wonderful BIL, family man, soldier and war hero

Penny. thank you for the great bit of "Kitchen Witchery". You really have me pegged! Below is a pic of my actual Witches' Datebook. I've had one of these every year for the past several. Lori sent me the one for 2011 when I couldn't find it here. It's full of White Magic and inspirational stuff, but doesn't have your special Kitchen Spell. Thanks to Bette, Topa, Fancy, Sunny and Carole too, for all the special Cruzer Mojo. Here's hoping it works both ways on our landlords, present and potential. ![]() Another little problem we've just encountered here, not among the main ones causing the most distress, is that the conservatory works a little too well. This reading of 123 degrees was Sunday at 2pm when it was only 72 outside. We have most of our unpacked boxes in there, since we've not felt secure enough with the landlord's bad attitude to unpack them, and you can see what it's doing to the packing tape (though I cropped out the worst of it here). It's uninhabitable! There is a sliding door that could provide a cross breeze but the #%!*# landlord doesn't have a key for it and won't have one made. We're building the case for ending our lease if the place we're going to see works out. ![]() |
