Eaglepedia Revisited June 3, 2007 Part I - When a parent lands on the nest with a food delivery, the eaglets are aggressive at the self-feeding stage and will rush them, screaming as loud as they can. They "attack" their parents with wings outstretched, mouths open wide, and bodies lunging forward. The eaglet will grab at whatever the parent delivers and there can be a tug of war should their talons get tangled up. "The Bald Eagle" AND June 4, 2007 Part II - If the eagle parent manages to stay on the nest (some are pushed off and sent scrambling), the eaglet will whine loudly until the adult leaves. After snatching the food away, the eaglet may turn and crouch over the food with wings spread wide (mantling) to hide the food. The eaglet will mantle in response to a parent, a sibling or on occasion, to a human in the nest.  as observed last Thurs! Cheryl - What a wonderful promo and trip down "Memory Lane".  It's hard to believe that our Princess Cruz has grown so quickly and hopefully next season will start a new generation of eaglets.
