Thanks, Carole. Just having a bit of fun. I put an eagle on Pete's T-shirt. The CBC just had an update on the Sidney chick with the fishing line wrapped around its foot. The plan now is to put mats of some sort under the crane so that the crane won't sink in the mud. They should be put in place today. The tree is dead so climbing it is not an option. Likely the segment will be on the news again today. |

Cheryl, your opening today is adorable! I have so enjoyed all of the NAC posts this year. You are a bunch of very talented women. I wish I knew how to do the graphics you all do...maybe I could learn if I had more time. So did they tell you at CHIL that you can't even post a direct link over here? Keeping my that they will be able to rescue the chick at Sydney. That just breaks my heart.Hope you all have a great day! |

Linda, thanks for the comment for myself and for the entire team. We all really appreciate hearing from people. We can't post a direct link to the fundraising thread, only to the index page here (CHIL forum rules because of the Board of Education, public funding, etc.). Sometimes people don't understand why we have to make them go through so many steps to find the NAC information and they get frustrated, so I thought I'd just put that in there. No excuses for them now about it being too much work to donate. It's mainly for the people in nest obs who may not visit chat and don't know that we have to follow the protocols. |

SYDNEY NEST UPDATE ON FLYER RESCUE Karen and David are taking the 11:00 am ferry to Sidney arriving there just before 1:00 pm. Someone has seen the newscast and donated the mats required for an attempt to use the crane to access the nest. It will take awhile to get the mats in place before the crane arrives at 2 p.m. Bear in mind that it still has to be detemined if "operation mats" is feasible. There will be updates if and when they come up! |
