I'm sorry I've been MIA for a few days. "Life" has really been holding us hostage, forcing us to have to now frantically search for a place to live, while Ed's health condition continues to be almost intolerable, with the new medications making him feel even worse, and we're finding nothing available in the rental market that we think we could live with. Ozzie had asked about the cute old cottage I posted pics of: it's still an open question and we're still waiting for answers about the heating system and when we can meet the landlord to discuss it. We spent the day posting notices and talking to local people who might know of anything. The internet sites post very few new listings, we've contacted all the letting agents, and are trying to leave no stone unturned. On the happier side, I'm so relieved that Flyer was freed from the line his foot was caught in! And that the Carolina Eaglets have been seen and are doing well. The Yorkie theft is so heartbreaking, especially in light of the poor family's other tragic situations. Topa, I'm so jealous! Maui! That sounds like Paradise! Hope you two have the time of your lives. Michele, I loved your NAC post this morning, especially the Teddy Roosevelt quote: "Do what you can, with what you have, from where you are." Just what we're trying to do too. The Loch of Lowes webcam has been offline just when Lady and 7Y's eggs are due to hatch! Everytime I try to log on to the camera it crashes Firefox and Safari! I thought it was because I had just installed a new version of Acrobat Reader, which I have now removed, but saw the notice the cam is down, so maybe that's the reason. IDK. These are a few pics from an outing we took yesterday to a nearby hilltop look out and a another place near an old church and canal bridge with a brood of eleven Ducklings in the water, also a zoomed in shot of our local Fox from two nights ago; we'll really miss him when we have to leave. The wide shot is of a famous field for Crop Circles, called East Field, made famous by a Crop Circle in 1990 that Led Zeppelin used for this album cover, and by others over the years, both manmande and non... In 1991 Ed decoded this one as being made up of International Meteorological symbols describing the exact weather conditions prevailing at the time of its formation. BBC cameras trying to film it in 1990 were famously "fried" and destroyed while trying to film from inside of it. Right now the Wheat is young, green, and about a foot and a half high.![]() ![]() Here's a pic of the formation without the zeppelin shadow. It was as big as a Football field. The little specks in it are people. ![]() Momma Duck and eleven Ducklings. ![]() Looking the other way from the canal bridge to Woodborough Hill. ![]() Our favorite Fox following a scent trail. ![]() And the German Stork Mom and chicks this afternoon. ![]() Emoticon limit exceeded again...and neutered. |

Kris, it's soooo good to hear from you!!! It is so upsetting for you and Ed to be going through this.....and I'm sure the stress just adds to Ed's illness. I'm kinda hoping that you guys will be able to get the cute little Toll House Cottage.....I've already planned some decorating for you..... I love, love, love the emoticon neutering......way to my heart!!! The pix you posted of the countryside are just beautiful......and last but not least, Thank You for your kind words about my NAC post....they always mean so much to me. Deb, the Old Man Cave area looks like a great hike. The various names just tickle me....Grandma Gatewood Trail, Fat Woman's Squeeze (my favorite), Devil's Bathtub (gotta love that), and of course Sphinx Head.....which is exactly what it looks like. Thanks for posting that....and what a cute couple your ds and his soon to be wife is. Love the red hair on the one kiddo....I've got a "thing" about red hair.....my Nana was a red head.

Kris - I'm so sorry to hear of how much you have on your plate right now with Ed's health, looking for a home and just trying to cope with your daily life. Prayers are on there way that everything will improve and your life can get back to some kind of normal existance . Your photos are beautiful, at least your surroundings are so pretty and you get to see some incredible wildlife.Hang in there and good luck in finding a suitable home.
