Eaglepedia Revisited

May 19, 2008

Starting at 8 weeks, young eaglets begin to test their wings by standing at the edge of the nest and flapping. With the aid of the wind, they often can lift off briefly, touching down on the nest after a few moments in the air. They also spend a lot of time preening their feathers and looking around, familiarizing themselves with the surroundings - their home for the next couple months. The parents don't spend a lot of time at the nest anymore except to drop off food, perhaps only 1-2 times a day.

I'm still feeling rotten today but must go to the hairdresser as she is moving and won't be taking appointments for 3 weeks. :hair: I'm seeing the doctor tomorrow morning as I think the cold has developed into a sinus infection and a bit of bronchitis, probably need antibiotics :o Will take it easy for the next little while if I can, and just rest up.
