I'm so sorry to be so absent lately. Things have been very stressing and we've had our hands full trying to race against time to find a place to move to with not many options, with very few available rentals any where near where we are. Jillers emailed me a few days ago and I filled her in a bit, and which she very kindly relayed, and I thank you all for the caring thoughts and concerns you all posted. We're on the verge of knowing if we have secured another place and will know tomorrow. The house Penny recently mentioned that the "older folks" had that I had talked about before turned out to be not well maintained enough, being older and not very well fitted, and had some things about it we couldn't have lived with. It was in a great location though. It's all been so difficult and depressing, and worrisome, and with Ed' Green Card expiring in four days we have no choice but to stay and maybe reapply for him to emigrate to the US again if we ever want to or are forced to go back...if we can. (crying Emoticon) That landlord who has no justification to end our lease and we're the victims of a system that has little in the way of tenant protections! We were good tenants and he was a monster!! So much has changed since Ed lived here over 15 years ago. "The best laid plans..."I feel bad I haven't been able to keep up with daily events, but have tried to catch most of the wonderful NAC posts by the fabulous NAC team. So well done by all! Penny, thanks for calling out to me today. Lady is still sitting on eggs but it's a little over time and nothing obvious is happening. Last night it looked like there was a crack in one but nothing more has happened today. I don't know how long Osprey eggs take to hatch once cracked, but this might have just be grass in front of the egg. IDK. ![]() Here's a chick that did hatch though. A a rare white Kiwii born in captivity at Pukaha Mt Bruce National Wildlife Centre in Wellington, New Zealand. So precious and heart rendingly vulnerable. ![]() Just took a break before finishing this to go to the fields to see the Foxes. The four kits/cubs that live next to the train tracks are growing and I made some special high protein treats for them tonight. We found their main access hole to the Rabbit warren and put food out for them there. Hopefully saving a Bunny or two in the process. (cross fingers)Hope to have some good news tomorrow. (As usual had to dump a few Emotions to get this to load, so imagine more.. ;-) ) Penny, I forgot to comment on Big Fat Gypsy Wedding. We were fascinated by it when it aired here a while back. Can you believe that dress with the lights, and the little girls dancing in skimpy clothes and the big Communion dresses?? And, yes it's pretty scary how insecure their lives are. (I can really relate lately..) Most have no indoor plumbing (shocked Smiley!) and after the "big wedding" it's all house work and children for the women, and completely a "Man's World"! Most can't even read or write at an elementary level! They cover that in the last episodes. Edited by circlescribe, May 31 2011, 01:55 PM.

From my son in Fla. He is the one in the green shirt, hugging his 'Bruce' who is in training to be a Guide Dog for the Blind. Subject: Bruce at the Bay Pines VA Nursing Home Date: May 31, 2011 8:47 AM Bruce was the only dog there in his teenage stage, so he was pulling, chewing, all that 9 month old lab stuff. The ONLY thing that calmed him down was when an ancient Army Air Corps vet in a wheel chair pulled a harmonica out of his pocket and started playing it for Bruce. Bruce flattened out in front of the vet and listened and stared. LOLOL!!! http://animoto.com/play/WMFSTI0i244dOXQo4XcZgQ?utm_content=challenger |

Hi everybody. I've been busy gardening today. What a change in the weather. It's very hot! The puppies are actually calm - too pooped from the heat to get into much mischief. I did catch Mia chewing on one of my gardening gloves but that's about it.Kris, we are all hoping for the best for you and Ed. Thanks for checking in. Sorry to read about Lady, that the eggs haven't hatched yet. Nice idea to give the foxes some food. Elaine, all the people in the video were showing by their body language how much they enjoyed having the dogs visit. I saw your son and Bruce in there! Carole, your presentations today were all so bright and perky. Congratulations on your final day of promos. You've stuck with it through some difficult personal moments this year. Penny, super news about the Winnipeg Jets! We saw it on the news, too. Nice to have a team back in Canada. Thanks for the Buddy update. He's doing really well.Barb, DH and I really enjoyed your Noah's Ark post. I read it to him. |

Carol - I heard that they were putting a pool in the shelter with live fish so the eaglets will learn how to hunt. Also, there is supposed to be an adult BE close to them who they can observe but I have never seen it. Cheryl - for your compliments on my promo. Mia and Wynn What a sweet photo of 1-01 and 14-09, she must like older men Kris - Wishing you and Ed all the best of luck in finding and securing a new home. Ozzie - and good to hear from you.
