You've probably made model houses out of popsicle sticks with your children. This man made a model of the entire city of San Francisco . And he decided to use toothpicks. He used more than 100,000 toothpicks, and it took years to build. Not only is it huge, you can take tours using little plastic balls. Prepare to be amazed. http://player.vimeo.com/video/22461692?title=0&byline=0&portrait=0 |

Hi Peeps - Sorry I haven't been on the forum for a bit but just so busy with Mom and the hospital. She definitely has improved, internal bleeding has stopped and now it is a matter of keeping her back pain under control and getting her moving a bit. She tires out quickly but is trying her best to walk a bit. I was so worn out that I caught a cold either from a bug in the hospital or the change from A/C to the 95F weather outside. It's hot and humid and thunderstorms are on the way for tonight, hope it clears out the humidity, it's really sticky and uncomfortable. Have enjoyed all your posts but can't comment too much as internet connection is so iffy. Love and miss you all. |

Like most of you, Pat/Cumbrian and I have been very concerned that we hadn't heard from Bette for a few days, so I called her this afternoon. I am sorry to say the news is not good and, unfortunately, there is no way of breaking it gently to you. Bette has asked us to post this on the forum... She has inoperable and terminal brain-cell cancer, that is growing rapidly. She has been given about 2 weeks to live. Although she said she is too weak for visitors, she did say she would like cards. Please do not send e-mail or e-cards. She is too weak to use the computer. If you would like to send a card to her, please contact Pat or me for her address. Please do NOT send me PM's. My PM box is almost full as it is. Only e-mails please!!! |

I just off a 31 minute phone call with Bette. She does not want any calls. But she will take flowers tomorrow while her home health care worker is there (she asked for them from Cruzers), so I will go get flowers for her. I will probably not get to see her. Those who want to send $ for flowers can let me know & I will get as many flowers as $ will buy. I am going by between 4:30 & 6pm. She hopes she will have a home for Sydney. Possibly Maria who had moved in with Bette. She doesn't know yet. She says she will not be getting on the computer. She does want Cruzers to take an Island Packer out to Santa Cruz on Oct. 3rd to spread her & her husband's ashes between PH & the Twin Harbor nests. So who is able to go on that Monday?

Please do not post Bette's address here. This is a public forum that anyone can see and Bette would not want it posted here |

Yes - as Jann stated above - please remember this is a public forum and we need to keep Bette's info private Thank you for helping out. Gary called and I told him - we are both very saddened...... I have cards ready to mail out to give Bette a smile...... and for all cruzers ......

Thank you to those who are donating towards flowers. I would now like each of you who are giving to tell me what kind of flowers you want me to get & if they have them at the florist I will get the ones you ask for. This may be the saddest thing I've ever had to do. I am choked up. I'm sorry, I don't mean to fell sorry for myself. I am really hurting for Bette. Edited by jillers, Jul 17 2011, 07:13 PM.

Jiller's you are a blessing for Bette and have been for months. I think the flowers will make Bette feel we are all with her and she is not alone. You must tell her we are all with her. |
