Is there Pepsi - I have to have my soda (no we have water and bug juice) 3. Can I bring snacks for me and my son? (what part of bears did you not understand - BEARS are in camp and she and her cubs are very active and moving around and they love human snack foods! - and that doesn't include the chipmunks, skunks, raccoons and other critters - oh yeah porcupines) Geez ![]() Anyway - I'll be back in a bit |

and here's gary's answers (which of course we didn't send to her) 1. Can I bring a hair dryer is there electricity or I'll have fuzzy hair (wear a hat like I do or get your hair cut REALLY short) 2. Is there Pepsi - I have to have my soda (There is Pepsi from the Pepsi machine at the front gate only. Even though the machine at the trading post has buttons for Pepsi, it only dispenses Gatorade and water) 3. Can I bring snacks for me and my son? (there is plenty of food, just eat enough of it to be full and no snacks are necessary) |

This sent from one of my best buddies in Los Alamos, CA. She said this-A friend of mine, here in Los Alamos, lost her home this year... everything was gone due to dryer issues... It is worth 2 minutes of your time periodically! The heating unit went out on my dryer! The gentleman that fixes things around the house for us told us that he wanted to show us something and he went over to the dryer and pulled out the lint filter. It was clean. (I always clean the lint from the filter after every load clothes.) He told us that he wanted to show us something; he took the filter over to the sink and ran hot water over it. The lint filter is made of a mesh material .. I'm sure you know what your dryer's lint filter looks like. Well .... the hot water just sat on top of the mesh! It didn't go through it at all! He told us that dryer sheets cause a film over that mesh that's what burns out the heating unit. You can't SEE the film, but it's there. It's what is in the dryer r sheets to make your clothes soft and static free ... that nice fragrance too. You know how they can feel waxy when you take them out of the box ... well this stuff builds up on your clothes and on your lint screen. This is also what causes dryer units to potentially burn your house down with it! He said the best way to keep your dryer working for a very longtime (and to keep your electric bill lower) is to take that filter out and wash it with hot soapy water and an old toothbrush (or other brush) at least every six months. He said that makes the life of the dryer at least twice as long! How about that!?! Learn something new everyday! I certainly didn't know dryer sheets would do that. So, I thought I'd share! Note: I went to my dryer and tested my screen by running water on it. The water ran through a little bit but mostly collected all the water in the mesh screen. I washed it with warm soapy water and a nylon brush and I had it done in 30 seconds. Then when I rinsed it .. the water ran right through the screen! There wasn't any puddling at all! That repairman knew what he was talking about! |

VOTED!!! Ozzie, Love the kitties. The insurance company must have sent the card to the wrong address... I can visit Bette if she has an evening open and would like company. DD just emailed me this photo to tell me they hiked to the top.. She took this photo with her cell phone. Not bad. She is enjoying having the summer off without worrying whether or not she will have a teaching job next year. She will be teaching a first/second grade combo class at the same school.. Yosemite ![]() snagged this from FB ![]() Prayers for Bette ![]() |

HIYa MaryO, as you are new to this forum, I am wondering how you can be a moderator here, or are you a moderator at some other chat forum? Just a little confused. Where is "all nest chat" ?

Hi everyone I've deleted several of the recent posts - Dr. Sharpe's intent for this forum is the sharing of information - friendship and to learn about the bald eagle and the work that IWS does on the Channel Islands I "looked" at the submission and voting site a couple of times before I voted for Peter because I didn't want spam mail to follow - or get myself signed up for something I don't want to be a part of or have time for - you know those cookies and things that sometimes are a by-product of visiting web sites! When I was sure it was OK - I voted and have continued to vote on each visit! I'm sure many others have done the same thing. As the chair of the NAC team, I say thanks that someone feels that our NAC effort might be able to help draw more votes for Peter and IWS at the web site We do work very hard for IWS! Actually we all do in one way or another! We must respect the rules of CHIL so can't promote specifics or the voting link there because it is indeed a "fund raiser" Jann has been posting a link here daily and anyone else is welcome to post as well - just as Jann does, it is acceptable to post a mention and link to the main IWS EF page and ask folks to stop by Chat each day and see how they might help IWS and the eagles - vote for Dr. Sharpe! I also know lots of folks are sharing/linking their FB pages with the info so hopefully the word will get out and more votes coming in! Thanks everyone for your understanding Thanks for your support of the eagles and IWS |
