Good morning peeps! I'm in Montreal now after a 5-1/2 hour drive yesterday with lots of traffic. I was exhausted when I arrived but feel a bit better today. Will be going to the hospital to see Mom shortly and will bring her some homemade pea soup that I made for her, a bit of a treat from hospital food. Later willl go to her apartment and start to pack up some stuff and take what I want back to Toronto. Lot's of work to do. Still waiting to hear where and when she will be placed, this waiting game is so stressful. Haven't caught up on the forum yet but love Cheryl's photos of Mia, Wynn and her beautiful Mom. Topa, your yeleds are beautiful, before you know it you will be hugging them. Still an iffy internet connection here so will try to get back later. GOOD MORNING BETTE - HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY!

Topa, I am happy you are going to get to see your grandkids (and their parents) soon! Even though you can "see" them with Skype, there is nothing like being able to give them a big hug, is there? |

Hello, everybirdy! Sunny, that is such a peaceful photo to start today's thread. It reminds me of many special times spent camping with my family. Carole, I thought maybe you were en route to Montreal yesterday since we hadn't heard from you. There must be so much sorting and packing for you to do. Estelle will certainly enjoy some homemade pea soup - nutritious and tasty, too. We actually had some rain overnight. It was a gentle but steady kind of rain, perfect for the lawn and flowers. I even got up to watch it! I, too, hope Kris and Ed's move went smoothly. Have to go ... Robert is waiting for me to finish this .... time to walk the dogs again. Maybe it's actually cool out there. I don't go with them for the first two walks in the morning. BBL

what beautiful graphics - they are so uplifting and soothing every day! thanks for your posts all...... still busy here - the cement & concrete workers went on strike Monday (our guys settled with them - Cement League is striking them) and it affects the Tower .... Gary called me but what can I do LOLthen today some of the Carpenters joined the strike - that union we do not yet have an agreement with so............ we were expecting by now (aug 1) to have all agreements settled and put to bed but not this year .......... so my work load continues boss was in City yesterday meeting with the carpenters for our floor assoc but no resolution so they have an extension until 8/5 - it looks like there has been no court decision so there will probably be another extension boss is leaving tues for a 2 week cruise we have an attorney that we've been working with who is great (probably my new boss come january) so he'll be covering the bases and helping me while these strikes and negotiations continueAND then yesterday we get notice that our roofing guys will start negotiations shortly ........ their contract expires 9/30........ holy cow other than that - same old stuff - ![]() hope everyone is well........ hugs to one and all I'll BBL |

oh yeah my nephew in Korea (one in army with new baby) had a couple of mild heart attacks (yes Jon is 27ish?) - family history a little bit of the cause but it seems the culprit is his sleep apnea it has put too much stress on his heart he had surgery a few weeks ago to correct that and so far it has improved tremendously but the heart wear and tear is already in place......we're waiting to see if army will discharge or let him stay in and go on to Alaska later this year - his next assignment....... as long as he is OK they are still doing some testing to make a decision on what to do next ......

This is my astrological forecast for today. I guess you could call it KIND interest. "A sure way of receiving more is to tithe to those in need. When you give from your heart, a magnetic field is created and we’re given back 10-fold. Teach this to the children in your life. It’s spiritual science." |

just wanted to share with all of you what I sent to my scouts and their parents after we got home from camp...... I want to take a moment to send a BIG thank you to the parents who were able to take time to join the troop at OSR this past week. You were all a tremendous help in assisting with the site projects, getting the kids where they needed to be, working with them on projects and merit badges, being a friend when they needed one ...... Indeed the boys might not have: showered every day eaten the healthiest choices each day worked hard on their merit badges completed all of their troop duties slept as much as they should have kept their tent as clean as we would have liked it to be brushed their teeth as often as they should have BUT indeed they did: make new friends learned that they can have fun without electronics enjoyed the fun of learning new things including "spoons" held a frog or a newt for the first time shared responsibilities with their scouting friends set a table - serve a meal - cleaned up have fun evenings around the campfire did a skit in front of the whole camp enjoy meeting the staff and learning from them shoot off rockets - tried their hand at fishing - passed a swim test climbed on damien - hiked further than they thought possible felt the summer rain on their faces - had dirt on their hands from the log toss cleaned a latrine - sawed some wood - shared a tent in the woods named a chipmunk - cooked a dinner and most important of all - shared a special experience with their parents ........ Summer camp is not about how many badges - not about a clean tent - It's about friendship - fun - experiences Deb |
