my sil messaged me last night - I sure don't want to pick sides and I feel so bad for both of them :( what to do what to do .......

spoke with DS yesterday and nearly everything is wrapped up for the wedding - other than little details that I'll be able to help with when I'm back home......

DIL to be ordered a couple of special decorations for the wedding cake, from England which we've kept a secret from DS - well until yesterday - when they got home from getting their license, a box was in their mailbox and Sara burst out with the secret - oh well rofl she tried!

ES and I went out yesterday and bought special gifts for DS - DIL and the 2 little ones! We wanted to give them each something special as a memory of their special day and something from just us <3

We included Jonah and Alleigh of course - after all - they are "marrying" into the family and I didn't want them to feel left out as everyone celebrates the bride and groom! Now how to pack it all up and take it home with me for the wedding - hmmmmmmmmm

Anyway - we got alleigh a little heart shaped necklace (like her mom's) and a white dress for Lucy (her build a bear) - that way Lucy can go to the wedding all dressed up super special :)

And we got Jonah a watch - something he's wanted for quite some time - all grown up now!

We're all getting so excited! :**:

Humans and dolphins have many things in common...
but one of our greatest connections is our love for ocean waves.
Have a wonderful weekend Ocean Defenders... we love you very much.

We have overcast skies with the possibility of a thunderstorm today. High of 24C/76F so it's a tad muggy again. Siobhan and I had an early morning walk in the coolness :D

'Savage Beauty' the Alexander McQueen Exhibition at the Met in NYC

Posted Image

"The exhibit's opening image: a shimmering white gown constructed out of razor clam shells juxtaposed with a blood-red dress with a bodice made of dyed microscope slides and ostrich feathers."

DH waited for 45 minutes in a line to get a ticket, then over 2 hours in a jammed double line waiting to enter the 5 galleries. He managed to take a few :clk: :clk: but it was hard as security was constantly stopping people from photographing anything. He bought the $45 book and said that the whole experience was one of the most extraordinary he had ever attended. There is a lot going on in each tableau with videos and holograms which do not really transfer well when you are shooting with flash off from a low angle to avoid detection :P I won't be able to see them until he gets back on Monday.

This opening vignette was an apt metaphor for the whole experience....first it was Hell (waiting for hours in lines) and then it was Heaven to see the beauteous creations of one man's incredible imagination and talent. I wish I could have seen it too :'(

Deb those were beautiful and thoughtful special gifts to the kids who will be official members of your family after the wedding :)^ So cute you got a special dress for Lucy to wear too :D
Uh oh ... Pandora could be dangerous, just ask Cheryl :P

So sorry to hear of your DB's break-up especially after 37 years :o

DH spent all day yesterday on his feet. After the Met he took a bus to Harlem (10 minutes) to meet a friend from University he hasn't seen in almost 40 years. They traipsed the whole length and breadth of Harlem, except for the one really dangerous area and DH said it was just a great experience. He took lots of :clk: :clk: especially of people in traditional costumes and interiors of some of their stores. He just loves that. One thing he did not like was how rude many people are especially if they think you are a tourist...he was carrying a Met bag and a camera...DUH

Holy Cow that GHO is one lucky bird !!!

"Aside from some bruising and soreness, the owl suffered no broken bones or permanent injury. One week later, Di Sieno released the Great Horned Owl into a 3,000 acre nature preserve." :)^
