Have you Voted?

Dr. Peter Sharpe has the epitome of an Eagle Rare Life Story – he is a wildlife biologist who has devoted his life to returning our nations symbol, the Bald Eagle, to its historic habitat on California’s Channel Islands.

Date: August 9, 2011 Reporter: Caleb Fairfax
Subject: VIDEOS BY CALEB
In this video you will see crane chicks: 6-11, 7-11, 9-11 and 10-11. 10 and 7 are both in the background, 7 is enjoying some nutritious food and 10 is taking a nice relaxing bath. I can’t blame the little whooper either; this was an incredibly hot day at Patuxent.

As you can see the heat is taking its toll on little 9-11; the bird at the beginning of the clip with his mouth open. To the left of number 9 you can see that number 6 is really just curious about what’s going on, and keeping an eye on me as I sit with them in the pen. In this video the crane chicks probably range between three and four weeks of age.

OK before I sneak away next week to OH - I really need to get caught up - so off and on over the next couple of days, I'm gonna backtrack a couple of weeks -

7/24 - Topa your daughter's photos of Yosemite are wonderful - ES and I have this on our list especially after seeing Lala's and others photos - wonderful place.

carole - that sky park was something - holy cow - I couldn't swim in that pool :(
ozzie I'm sure DD is home by now - hope she had a great time
Jill/Topa - thank you for sharing your visits with Bette with us {{}}

7/25 - Carol how exciting about the releases wow
Carole - so sorry to hear about Maya not being well - I'll keep reading
DD's puppy has been sluggish and not quite right and a couple of days ago he pooped out a large piece of bark/wood chip apparently from the flower bed - oh my gosh! it must have been causing a bit of a blockage! He's much better now and almost back to normal ----- why would he eat such a thing :(
oh and update - so glad to hear all's well with Maya and she's home resting - ahhhhh

7/26 - eagle release - sorry I wasn't home to watch :(
Topa - love the Pow Wow photos - we have a pow wow locally this weekend - I'm hoping to sneak over and have a look - they are so much fun and so spiritual
Kris - hope the move went smoothly (well as smooth as can be) and that settling in is not to trying on you and DH
Cheryl sorry to hear of the return of the puppy :( how sad ..... I agree with the others - research your breed before getting them AND take the time to train your puppy ..... well I'm sure she'll find a wonderful home with folk who will care and love her (help her with her obsession)

OK on to the next few days! (wow you miss a lot in just a day or two)

7/27 - oh topa you are getting me in trouble - I had to find those raptor blocks :) I might have to put that on my list for a gift I'd like to have LOL
Carole thanks for the captures of the release how wonderful that they will all have an opportunity to be free
ah I see the heat took one out of the picture - can't wait to read on and see if she is now free to soar!
what wonderful photos and graphics each day - makes a spirit soar along with the eagles

7/28 - Jill what a great sounding cake mmmm chocolate with a little zing!
Yeah Maya is doing so well

7/29 - thanks for the updates on the eagles
no photos cause some dope unplugged my phone at camp 2 x's so she could plug hers into my charger - grrrr we charge the phones at the dining hall and it's not close by so my phone would be there charging and then re-charging double grrrrrrr so didn't get to upload much of anything .... :( but we did have a great time!
wow how cool about the gorillas
and a baby elephant (that smiles)
LOVE the photo of buddy - he's so beautiful

oh michele just saw your post about Jedi :( hope it has all worked out and all is well...... {{}} for you and Jedi and family

Ozzie doesn't that drive you crazy with all the "details" they seem to leave out on any procedures

It's Bear War's in Ojai.
Suza and Sue Williamson have their hands full.
This happened at a home on the street I walk daily.
The home also backs up to a private school. :o

BBL, Going for a walk... :D
A friend and I taped a 'how to coexist with bears' letter Sue Williamson wrote,
on mailboxes in the neighborhood where the bear was shot yesterday.

That's such a shame about the bear being shot when there are many alternative solutions. Kudos to you, Topa, and to your friend for distributing the very informative letter.

Bette, I'll be toasting you around 3:15 pm my time with a cup of coffee. Have a good time out with your friends.
:U: :Hugs:
