Here's a bit of trivia for you. Charles Darwin and Abraham Lincoln were both born on February 12, 1809.

Posted Image All the best for a smooth move today for Estelle, Carole. :X:

Nice to hear that everyone had a good time including dogs and husbands for the little Cruzer get-together. I'm still smiling thinking that you and Penny were able to meet up in Montreal.

Good Morning Cruzers

It's going to be a beautiful Montreal day....a little cooler at 22C/73F compared to Winnipeg with a high of 36C/96F.

We had the best meet and greet with Carole Alan and Maya yesterday...

The girls were on their best 'yorkie' behaviour and DH got some really good :clk: :clk: with them together which was not easy to accomplish :P

I cannot post anything until I get back to my own computer but maybe Carole will be able to

Keeping :X: everything goes smoothly with her Mom's move to a different facility this afternoon.

The Jean Paul Gauthier exhibition was a pretty stunning overview of his fashion career. We could have stayed much longer but had to leave when the museum closed at 5:00PM We bought the book and took copious pics. Montreal is a vibrant, bustling city. We spent yesterday in Old Montreal and today will go to Boul St. Laurent to shop the ethnic boutigues and maybe stop by Schwartz's Jewish Deli for some Montreal smoked meat sandwiches....yes DH has to have one too :D

Miss all you guys. :Hugs: from La Belle Province

Wow - what a long day it was. Went to the hospital at 10:00a.m. and the transport bus was supposed to pick us up at 1:00 p.m. He didn't show up until 3:00 and Mom was having a hissy fit as she was uncomfortable sitting in the wheelchair as it hurts her back. We finally got to the nursing place around 4:00 and the greeting from the nurses' aid was so sweet. Mom has a private room, quite nice, but no phone, will get one hooked up soon. The people eat in a nice little dining room, each floor has one, so at least Mom will get out of her room. Alan and Maya came to visit her and Maya was the star, everyone loved her. :D We just got back to the hotel, am having a well deserved IP an we are going out for dinner later. Tomorrow will go to Mom's apartment, pack up some more clothing and personal effects and bring them to her new place. I just hope that she likes it there, has good care and that a permanent place becomes available as soon as possible.

Penny gave me some very good advice last night, don't think about what you have to do, just do it and it will be fine, she was right

Penny, I've always wanted to go to Montreal just for the shopping. Enjoy!

Carole, good news that things went smoothly with the move except for the delay. You are being such a strong support for your mother. Maya did a good job of cheering everybody up.

G'day peeps! My Wednesday, mostly sunny, cold(er) than yesterday! Race Sail Day :)^ Light winds.

rofl Jillers on the quake damage. I shouldnt laugh, there was damage.

Sounds like despite the initial hiccup the move for Estelle went smoothly. Did she say she liked it?

My DD Rachel is having Afternoon High Tea with champagne flute at the Gunner's Barracks (an historic site). I took her to see this place last week, as we were waiting for the event manager, a /12 dz older ladies came in, dressed to the 9s, for their High Tea. It was so endearing to see. This obviously is an English tradition and the venue is beautifully decorated. She chose the Terrace area which meant limited numbers for her gfs to come (but cheaper for me!), the parents will have a table in the dining room. Unfortunately we couldnt book till October and her Birthday is September, its booked out! :P
