Well over 1/2 of the local power customers are still without electricity and they are saying it could be up to 7 days

ES' train is up and running this AM BUT it was like 40 minutes late :(
they say the subways are good to go for the most part so hope when he gets to Brooklyn he can make his switch and get on to Wall St. to work!

Lots of trees down all around here - we haven't ventured out too far so when I head to work later this AM - we'll see :o

Heck my office may be one of those without power .........

anyone want to buy some bottled water (unused) or batteries :<::

Chemistry and Compassion

WHEREVER HUMANS LIVE, we affect the lives of so many animals and the fortunes
of many species. There is trouble on many fronts, but also a growing consensus
on the side of animals, to spare them from extention while there is still time.

Under Dr. Sharpe’s leadership, over 160 young bald eagles have taken their first flight on the Channel Islands and the population has grown to 14 breeding pair spread across 4 of the 8 Channel Islands and a total of 60-70 eagles. Thanks to the devotion of Dr. Sharpe, his predecessors, their numerous assistants, and government and private partners, the future survival of bald eagles on the Channel Islands is promising.

It's going to be another bright :*: day here with a high of 26C/78F. Forecast is for thunderstorms the next few days so we'll have to make the most of it.

Montreal had some serious damage from Irene on Sunday too. Lots of power outages, smashed windows and downed trees :o

Glad to hear everyone is safe in the hurricane zone :)^

sounds like up and down the east coast, everyone got a little something :(
glad to hear everyone is OK though.......

coming to work was crazy - trees everywhere - I didn't know it was that bad in my immediate area..... as I drove east though, no trees down (maybe 1 or 2) and hardly any debris .... guess we were the target after all

I hear only a few 1,000 have power back - most are still out and probably will be until next week! eek

one of our scout families is out so I'm gonna stop by tonight and see if they need anything - ice - batteries :) or come over and shower!

made my reservations for christmas flights home finally - whew..... cost a little bit more this year than before but still better than driving - now we'll have to work out the family things.... who what where .... whooee
blessing is that gary gets Fri/Mon off so we only have to take Tues as extra day! woo hoo

OK back to work - bossie is here today

Carole how adorable is that!!! I wonder what happened between them to build such a bond

I remember a very similar story about the bunny and the deer who were buddies.
