Posted Image Sending get well wishes your way, Deb. I hope the next couple of days find you on the mend. You are doing the right thing, resting and giving yourself a chance to recuperate.

Penny, I think that #2 has a good chance of finding some of her own kind. She is actually in a location not too far from one of the original stopover sites (before OM changed the route a couple of years ago). That means that some of the older whoopers from past ultralight migrations might be around, if the sandhills stop at one of the larger refuge areas along the way. I hope so, anyway. :X:

Great screen caps, Carole. You even got the identifying red leg band on one. At least if they can't fly for a few days they will finally have some water to enjoy and to keep them occupied.

Bear Center staff busy!

Lily & Family calendar 'Memories of Hope......'Shadow's Clan calendar Family Tree

While we work to put the final touches on our report for the DNR, the Bear Center staff is busy filling your orders. Folks are beginning to receive their orders and we’ve gotten wonderfully glowing feedback about the new 2012 calendars! The ‘Lily & Family’ calendar contains a 2-page spread ‘Memories of Hope’—a fitting tribute to the young bear that meant so much to all of us. The ‘Shadow’s Clan’ calendar contains a new style of the clan family tree that’s easier to read—and all the cubs have been named… surprise!

Lily, Faith, and Hope Holiday CardSome folks have even said the beautiful ‘Lily, Faith, and Hope Holiday Cards’ have actually moved them to send out cards for the first time in years.

The ‘Lily & Family’ calendar is available here.

The ‘Shadow’s Clan’ calendar is available here.

The ‘Lily, Faith, and Hope Holiday Cards’ are available here.

Other new items in the Gift Shop are available here.

Thank you for all you do.

G'day Peeps, on late(r) than normal, busy busy, and working from home so fitting in laundry, petting kitties, cleaning, and kissing BBob along with the business work.

Sailing yesterday was GREAT, almost too hot and today is cool to cold, more like early spring, whats up with this weather!!!

Nice to have you back Cheryl and yes, Carole did a great job at the WC updates. Today's posting are SPECTACULAR and I am so jazzed they did a skip over stop. Amelia Earhart indeed too! rofl

Nice story on the wolf too.

Love the sand art.

<::: Meet Mel and Sydney - Oceanside Ca Barn Owls

 Posted Image

The Box-builder/owner is originally from Mel(bourne), Downunder (+U.S proud citizen), hence the Aussie names chosen for these owls.

The relatively warm winter weather in San Diego County seems to have brought them into the box early to investigate it for nesting potential - we shall see.

The box has been up since mid-November and owls moved in two weeks later!

At this rate we might have a clutch in January and owlets in February - check back often - CAMs will be broadcasting the action.

Live Owl Cam
Great story! Trish will love this so posting to her via email, thanksl

Kath...those owls live not far from me. I, too, am in Oceanside. :) Have been watching them for a yr. or so now.

Deb...hope you feel better soon!

Actually started Christmas shopping. I do everything online. I hate shopping in the stores here. UGH! And most stuff I can get free shipping :)^

Yay for the whoopers!! Hope things continue to go well for them!
