Well I'm hoping to be up and about more today - probably not back to work yet - tomorrow I'll give that a try.....

of course one of the big holiday luncheons/boss party - is today. it's in the City and I'm worried about getting there and then not feeling well enough to stay and then I'd have the long difficult trip of getting back home .... so a no go for me :(

thanks everyone for your well wishes - I'm happy that I went to the immediate care center in VA right away but boy what an illness this has been .... but getting all better now and a couple more days - I'll be right as rain!

I'm way behind cause all I've done is sleep..... hope to remedy that shortly

Hoping everyone is well or getting better

GO CRANES GO

and hugs to you all for sure for sure

Deb - Good to hear you are feeling a bit better. :)^ Wise decision not to attend the party, too much travelling to go into the city.

Good morning!

Whooper Update: It looks like it is a 'no go' for today because of headwinds (likely cause). They did send up a test trike.

I'm glad that you are feeling somewhat better, Deb. Good idea to skip the party. That would just wear you out and might cause a setback.

Woke up to -17C/1F and it's windy which makes it feel so much colder.

Siobhan is very speedy when she has to go outside :D

Deb I know that is so frustrating for you not to be able to get to the party because you have had a really stressful year at work and this would have been a nice little 'reward' for you :hair:
Maybe someone will bring you a treat on Monday :X:

Santa Ana winds expected to rip through county » Ventura ...

In interior valleys, including Cruzneyland,

Deb, good to hear you're feeling a little better. Take it easy and you'll soon be good as new. :ok:

Sorry the Whoopers have another No Fly day, but loved seeing how #2 has found a place with the Sandhills. What a pioneer! Amelia Earhart indeed. :><:

I was so distressed to read the news of this weeks ruling on an issue I've followed for a long time. :'( Horse Meat May Be Back On the Menu Within a Month After Ruling to Lift Ban on Horse Slaughter in the US

I found an online petition to protest this particular ruling. Protest Lifting the Ban on Horse Slaughter in the US

And another from the group Americans Against Horse Slaughter.

This is an issue fraught with many horrific and objectionable aspects. One of the worst being that most of the poor Horses are young and healthy, victims of hard economic times and keepers who don't explore the humane alternatives available. <:3

Out of the earth

I sing for them,

A Horse nation

I sing for them,

out of the earth

I sing for them,

the animals

I sing for them.

Sung by Lone Man of the Teton Lakota – From the book “A Song for the Horse Nation”, edited by Emil Her Many Horses (Oglaa Lakota) and George P. Horse Capture (A’aninin).
