Go Cranes go! They really made up for all those lost days today! This is a one of a wildlife photographer's views on a harrowingly close call for a very lucky Lion Cub that had fallen over the edge of a deep ravine, but was amazingly saved by the perseverance of his Mother's Love. ![]() |

FROM WCV FACEBOOK Injured NX Being Transported to Wildlife Center NX, a juvenile Bald Eagle rescued from her nest at the Norfolk Botanical Garden earlier this year and treated and released by the Wildlife Center, was admitted to a permitted wildlife rehabilitator in the Northern Neck last night [December 1] . The injured eagle was found at 10:45 p.m. in the middle of the road near the Ophelia post office and was picked up by a deputy from the local sheriff’s office. The preliminary report from the permitted rehabilitator is that NX has a wing droop and blood in her mouth, but is feisty and is in good weight and physical condition. The eagle is now being transported to the Wildlife Center and is expected to arrive late this afternoon. We’ll post additional information here as we learn it. FROM WCV CHAT Amanda Nicholson, WCV: We received word that NX is now with the 2nd transporter who is shuttling her here ... so still en route. Still should be here by mid-afternoon. We'l let you know when she arrives, and then we'll let her chill out a bit in a dark, quiet place ... de-stressing is important before we start the stress of a physical exam. But we'll of course update on that too when the vets begin the procedure. |

Good morning. I have a HUGE prayer request, if I may. Linds txtd me this morning and told me that after "being affectionate" (if you know what I mean) this morning, David had a small seizure. She is really scared. He kept insisting he was fine and not going to see a dr. but she talked to David's dad who insisted he get seen. So his dad took him to Urgent Care. Apparently, he had one when he was a kid but not since then. So please be in prayer for him especially but her and the kids, also. Things were starting to look up for them as David got a job working at Kohls for the holidays that they are hoping will work into permanent then this. I pray that it is nothing or at the very least, something that can be treated easily. |

Karen I know it seems scary but it's likely only a minor "blip", and easily treated, if necessary. A few tests should get to the bottom of it and hopefully won't effect his new job. I'll keep David on my Prayer List.

FROM WCV CHATAmanda Nicholson, WCV: NX just arrived at the Center. Special thanks to two wonderful transporters who very quickly made room in their schedule to get her here! NX has been placed into the Center's "waiting room" -- a small, dark, quiet room. She will be allowed to de-stress there before her physical examination. We'll post more information as we know it. NX GET WELL SOON

Thanks, everyone. I hope and pray you are right, Kris, and that its just a blip. I was worried about it happening again while he was driving and that he'd have an accident. I am so glad his dad was able to talk some sense into him and took him to get checked out. I will keep you posted when I hear anything. Thanks for all the prayers! |

Update on David: Linds said that Urgent Care was going to charge them a copay of $250 ..which, of course they don't have! In order for it to be the copay of $25. they have to wait until Tues as a reg. primary care appt. ARGHHHHH!!!! If I had the money I would send it to them but I just don't have it right now So pray that it doesn't happen again but I told Linds that if it does to just take him to the ER. She said she would.
