WCV CHAT REPORT ON NX Ed Clark, WCV: Good morning all---before you get excited, I'm only here to post a single update on NX, for those of you who are not following the WCV website or Facebook pages. Nx was ALIVE this morning--always a good way to start any day. She had deficated profusely, due to the fluids she was given last evening. This is also a good thing because it shows that her "systems" are working properly, and she is digesting her food. Later today, Dr. Dave and team will anesthetize her and take the x-rays we were unable to take yesterday, when she arrived (due to her having had a full crop). That will give us a very good idea of the extend of the injuries to her right wrist, and will let us know if there are other skeletal issues. After that, we'll have a better idea of her prognosis. Stay tuned. We'll update things as news is available. (Read this to suggest that calling, emailing, or otherwise asking for new news will not hasten the process.) WCV UPDATE December 3 update Dr. Dave reported that NX was standing this morning when he checked on her. She was fasted last night, so that the veterinary team can anesthetize her later today to perform a series of radiographs. |

Topa - You are adorable, a perfect ad for IWS clothing and gear Penny - Ed is "Mr. Tact" he has such a gift with expressing himself be it good or bad news. I just read their chat and so many people are phoning WCV, how dumb is that. It is tying up the lines for real emergencies and making the staff answer the phones when they can be caring for the many animals who need their attention.

![]() Hi everybody. Whooper Update: No flight today. I checked the Field Journal last night and they were predicting a Down Day. That meant I could sleep in (still adjusting to the time change from Hawaii). Topa, what a pleasure to see our own supermodel in her eagle fashions. I would highly recommend the long-sleeved T-shirt. It is cosy with a sweater during our chilly winter days, and nice on its own in the spring and fall.NX, get well soon. That little juvie has been through a lot in her short life so far.

Cheryl - I am feeling quite a bit better. The nose isn't quite as achy and the swelling has gone down. I guess I am a good healer as it's only been 1 week.

Einstein certainly lives up to his name! I think the training must give him some enrichment in his life, since African Greys live for a long time. The training would help to keep him happy and alert. I really enjoyed the video - thanks, Carole. That's good news about your nose. I hope it stops hurting completely soon. You are definitely a good healer. |
