<::: Owner of abused Great Dane arrested <:::

Posted Image

Updated: Friday, 02 Dec 2011, 10:20 AM CST

According to the arrest affidavit, a Bastrop animal control officer responded to a call about a dog injured in the roadway on Nov. 11. When the officer arrived he located the dog curled up on a couch on the porch of Bledsoe’s home.

The dog, a 4-year-old Great Dane named Claire, weighed only 70 pounds, half of what it should weigh. The affidavit also says the dog had no hair, open sores, red swollen skin, swollen feet, dirty and oozing ears, fleas, ticks, and smelled of yeast.

Bledsoe’s son was at the house and was unable to show the officer any type of food for the dog. The son also told the officer that his mother could not afford to take the dog to the vet.

Officers took Claire to the Bastrop Vet Clinic, where Dr. Sierra Guynn rated the dog’s condition as a one on a 1-9 scale -- just one level above death.

Today, Claire is doing much better. She is now at a foster home after being rescued by Big Dog Rescue .

The rescue group said Claire should make full recovery, however she is now 75 percent blind and deaf.

:><: yeah penny - how do people treat animals like that :(

cheryl I hear ya on the time change adjustments - I do OK going West but coming back home - takes me a bit to get back into the swing LOL

Carole glad to hear you are progressing! one of our older scouts got whacked in the nose at school in gym class - he had to have surgery :( but he looks great now and all nearly healed - he claims he never intends to repeat the process though LOL

Hi Topa - love your posts and enjoyed the FB post of your son...... I'm sure you are all so proud ..... <3

cheryl I have corrective text now that I updated my phone - and if I don't pay attention - well some of the words that it "predicts" LOL .......

boss leaves the end of next week and then it'll just be me... he's beyond ready to go and isn't being all that easy to deal with - maybe it was a good thing that I was sick and missed this past week :) I still don't have an office move date so everything is still just hanging which is very frustrating to me - wish it were over and done with ...... oh well.......

I have eagle scout court of honor invitations to get done and mailed this weekend so that will keep me home and resting up :) LOL and the house has been badly neglected this week (I won't "say" the word cause I hate doing it) rofl

and I need to make my IWS order for calendar etc..... :><:

ok guess it's time to get moving and stop being so lazy.... BBL

we did one of those DNA tests for Trin and her results came back - interesting!

bernese mountain dog w/german shepard on one side

mixed breed (16% Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen) w/Norwegian Elkhound on the other side

they also provide a full description/history of the breeds and it was very interesting to see that indeed, Trinity would seem to be a nice blend of each of the breeds - not entirely one whole set of characteristics! but whatever she is - we luv her <3 our adopted baby!

Topa, that was a neat video! Thanks. :Hugs: I hadn't seen that one. They got a couple of things right, and some nice Space images, but unfortunately almost ALL the Crop Circles in it were manmade! I only counted 7 or 8, I think, that were what Ed and I consider non-manmade. We have studied the subject for well over 40 combined years and know it "inside out ". You did good to pick the one you did to use as the image though. :><: That one appeared in 1997 on a hill called Woodborough Hill, which is within sight of where we're living, and that one was definitely "genuine"! It's one of the ones we visited that Summer too. :D The footage they showed of "Cymatics" demonstrates how "sound" is thought to be one of the forces involved. That's something Ed discovered years ago and has written extensively about, and was also extensively plagiarized over too. The footage that seems to show "balls of light' forming a Crop Circle is a hoax too. The guy who made it did a documentary about how he did it but still some people think it's real. Before he admitted it I'd written and published a piece on it (about 15 years ago) explaining from my animation and special effects background how it had been made. Of course I got a lot of flack from the "Believers" at the time, and Ed and I still get a lot of combined flack for our views on how many manmade circles there have been, but there's a profoundly significant spiritual reality behind all the propaganda that we remain dedicated to documenting. We've tried to illuminate some of it on our website. And, here's a short summary Ed wrote describing The Primary and Secondary Source of Non-manmade Crop Circle Creation, and an interview we did several years ago that goes into it in more depth, if anyone wants to know more. And there's much more on our website, especially on the Articles and News pages. :ok: :BX:
