Ozzie - That baby seal was on our National TV News last night, he sure made himself comfy. Deb - You do need a vacation! It's been non-stop for you these past months so hope it slows down over the holidays. Alan always watches the Letterman show so we will be looking for you when the camera pans the audience. Your new bosses sound so nice, what a lovely gesture to leave a plate of goodies on your desk

Whooper Update: Migration Day 68 - December 15, 2011 The rock 'n roll throughout the night continues into this morning as the surface winds mimic the action aloft. We have SSW winds ~20mph on the surface and more than double that at altitude. The cranes and planes will be spending a fourth Down Day in Franklin County, AL. |

![]() Good morning, everybody. It's going to be a busy day here today. We're getting new bedroom furniture and carpet. It's been a couple of weeks of moving everything out of our bedroom into the other rooms. Ian and Allison took the old dressers and bedside table so our clothes, etc.. are piled up in the other bedrooms. The carpet is being installed today plus Robert is working this afternoon so I am going to have my hands full. I will try to check in later. |

My little squirrel buddy was madly digging in my front porch cedar boxes looking for some buried peanuts. He was so enthusiastic we had an overturned box with contents spread all over the place Normally the contents would be frozen solid !!! ![]() These 's are fuzzy because they are taken through 2 doors with a gap of 5" between them and the outside one has louvered panels of glass which made it even harder. This little guy heads up the tree at any little noise or movement ![]() ![]() I was late giving him his brekkies this morning. I won't make that mistake again

Ruh-roh, a bit of a mess there to tidy up but no damage done, Penny. Your little squirrel buddy will enjoy the delicious treats you've left for him/her. It is very mild out here at 10 degrees C. No phone call yet from the carpet guys. I'm hoping they don't come until later anyway as I am not sure how this will go with the dogs. A Hooded Crane has been sighted with photo confirmation at the Hiwassee Wildlife Refuge in Tennessee. This is where many sandhills gather as well as a few whooping cranes. The Hooded Crane is from Asia. It is very exciting for birders to have such a rare visitor, and makes everyone wonder how it got to North America. photos (4) http://www.newschannel9.com/sections/article/gallery/?pic=1&id=1007311&db=wtvcstory http://www.newschannel9.com/articles/crane-1007311-bird-hooded.html |
