Deisel RESCUED

Posted Image

Deisel was abandoned at a gas station. An Ojai
college student driving home for Thanksgiving brought him home.
The students parents fostered Deisel until 'all for love ANIMAL RESCUE'
found a forever home for Deisel.

Don't you think DEISEL is the poster boy for the Nannie Dog pb breed.

Beautiful Kris. <3

Deb, the Scout camping trip looked like fun.
I'm sure the boys really appreciate being home
for the holidays after roughing it in the cold. :flk: :flk:

Five or six years ago my oldest nephew was a high school student who had a part-time job at a golf course in one of the suburbs north of Dallas. One winter day when he went to work, there was this tiny little puppy, barely old enough to be taken from it's mom, who someone had apparently dropped off and left. He called his mom and begged her to let him bring the puppy home with him, even though they already had another dog (that was quite a handful). He promised her he would find a home for the puppy and wouldn't try to keep it permanently, so she finally told him he could bring it home. The puppy turned out to be what appears to be a purebred Blue Heeler, and was adopted by my other SIL who loves animals of all kinds, and didn't have a dog. They named the puppy Justy, and he is the sweetest, smartest, most loveable dog! It was really cruel of someone to have left him there, but in the end, he ended up with a really good family!

Good morning and Happy Hanukkah to all my awesome Jewish friends! I would love to see pics of your Hanukkiyahs when they are lit tonight. One of our parents at the other school where I worked would bring in her families Hanukkiyahs (sp?) and share with the kids the story of Hanukkah. I loved the one Hanukkiyah she had that was in the shape of the city of Jerusalem. It was old and so beautiful! Each one in her family had their own.

Diesel is adorable!! So glad he now has a forever home!

Deb...loved the pics of your camping trip :) Looks like y'all had great fun! The little bit of snow? You sure it wasn't dandruff?? rofl rofl

Well, I only work the rest of today and tmrw until 9:45 am then I am off until Jan. 9th! Can't wait! And I hate to rush Christmas but I am having a hard time being excited about Christmas Day without my grandkids and having to wait until the 26th to see them! :D But the kids don't know we are coming. I can't wait to see their faces!! Hope I can have my camera ready and have the presence of mind to snap a quick pic of when they see us before grabbing them up in my arms! rofl only 7 more days! :**:

Good Tuesday Mornin' Peeps..... :}^

Deb, I love seeing the pix from your camping trips and your activities with the Scouts.....that was such a pretty area. I kept thinking that the survival skills that they're being taught are so useful....when you're out hiking in wilderness areas, it can become disorienting, even if you think you're on a marked trail. As you can tell, I speak from experience...... :haha: :haha:

Carole, I so, so, so love seeing the nests from across the nation......and it's fun to see an egg in the Sequoia nest.

Cathy, I loved seeing the "!0 Reasons", just to see pictures from abroad. I would love to see the lighted Menorahs at night....just beautiful.
Diesel....omigosh, he just melted my heart!!! I am so happy he found a forever family....although, if I'd've found him, I would've had a hard time giving him up....I'm such a sucker when it comes to animals.

Linda, the story of Justy the Blue Heeler filled my heart with so much joy.....that St. Francis of Assisi guided him to a forever family.

Karen, Happy Almost Christmas Vacation!!! Our school district is off right now.....but I have to tell you, I lost a week somewhere. I was thinking that Christmas was mid-week next week.....Eeeeaaaakkkkk!!! I swear, with each passing day I seem to get more and more daft.

Penny, the Plant Pot Owls are just precious.....and I LOVED the video of Bailey the unknown Reindeer. You and Bailey just made my day!!!

Kris, good Tuesday Mornin' to you and Ed!!! "Bless us all, every one" is one of my favorite lines from the "Christmas Carol".....I can just picture Tiny Tim....

Cheryl, Bah Humbug, the Whoopers are grounded yet another day.....still, for those who have families, it would be especially nice if they could spend it with them.
I could just picture you and Robert trying to wrap presents with your two little Santa's "helpers"...... rofl  rofl I have to go into the Study and close the door when I try to wrap presents, otherwise it turns into a huge fiasco what with my three "little helpers".

Yesterday I was able to help my mom complete her Christmas shopping, with the except of a few items that she'll need from the grocery store. We will be having the family over on Christmas Eve, and one of the things I truly love is my mom's fruit salad. Soooooo, tomorrow will be the grocery shopping day....I think. I still have a few presents I need to buy for the family, but I was able to make a dent in my shopping yesterday....Yea!!!

LATEST UPDATE ON NX

December 20 update
NX was anesthetized this morning for another set of radiographs. Dr. Miranda reports that the coracoid avulsion is healing. It’s too soon to tell if the piece of bone is re-attaching or if it will be reabsorbed, as the healing is still taking place.

An additional development: radiographs also revealed boney changes taking place on the head of NX’s left humerus. At this point, it’s too soon to tell what that may mean – it could be possible joint involvement with her shoulder injury, or it could just be another stage of healing. Only time will tell as the coracoid fracture heals. Dr. Miranda is happy with NX’s range of motion in this wing, meaning that Dr. Miranda can’t feel any sort of major issues in the shoulder.

NX will remain indoors in a body wrap for one more week. After that, the wrap will be taken off and the veterinary team will monitor her. Radiographs will be taken again during the first week of January.

LATEST UPDATE ON RTH

December 19 update
Red-tailed Hawk #11-2361 was brought into the hospital on December 19 for a series of radiographs. The hawk was anesthetized for the x-rays.

Dr. Adam reports that the hawk’s left shoulder – the main area of concern on the last set of radiographs – has not changed in the past two weeks. However, radiographs revealed boney changes in the hawk’s left elbow and carpus. The veterinary team went back to review all of the hawk’s radiographs since its September admission, and are concerned about this development. At this point, the team isn’t sure why this is happening, though it could be a result of the hawk’s initial shoulder injury and how it is holding its wing and flying.

The left shoulder of the hawk is unchanged from the last set of radiographs:

The developments in the hawk’s elbow and carpus are cause for concern:

The hawk is scheduled for another set of radiographs in two weeks. Since the injury is not stable at the moment, the hawk is not a candidate for release yet – the team will need to wait and see what sort of developments occur in two weeks’ time.
