POSTING FROM ED CLARK AT WCV, HE IS A VERY SPECIAL MAN Ed Clark, WCV: Happy Holidays, everyone. Regardless of how you observe this holiday season, whether by celebrating Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanza, or Winter Solstice, I hope you are able to enjoy the love of friends and family, whether near or far--two legged or four. Please take a moment to remember those who stand in harm's way on our behalf, so that we may celebrate and enjoy this season, freely and safely. Whenever you have the opportunity, let them know how much their service and sacrifice means to us. Also, remember the families of the men and women in uniform who have empty seats at the holiday table. They, too, sacrifice and help make us strong. Here on the home front....the wild, feathered and furry front.... we all have made so many new friends this year...friends who have now become almost family. On behalf of all of us at the Wildlife Center of Virginia, I want to thank each of your for your support, your friendship, your enthusiasm for our work, your engagement with our programs, and yes....even for your suggestions for how we can do things better!!! (Well, okay, for 'some' of your suggestions.....) It has been an incredible and an unbelievable year for all of us, and for the animals about which we all care. I had a chance to see NX this morning, as she was having her bandages changed and her wounds cleaned. Our staff was on the job today, as they will be tomorrow...and every other day...caring for those who cannot care for themselves. It is a real priviledge to work with such an outstanding team of caring professionals. It gives me real joy to know that so many of you have come to appreciate them, as I do. More importantly, you have let them know how much you appreciate them, in so many thoughtful ways. So, again, on this Christmas Eve, I wish you the best of the season, and want you to know that your friendship, support, and many thoughtful and caring gestures, cause all of us at WCV to feel very blessed, not only on this special holiday, but every day of the year. Thank you! With the warmest of holiday wishes, Ed |

What lovely and meaningful postings to greet me on opening the forum pages. My goodness. You are all so special and share so many interesting things. The various gnome/elf/Santa illustrations have been so much fun to see. We're just waiting for Ian and Allison to arrive so we can have the fondue, better late than never. Allison has worked all day on her nursing shift at the hospital. Topa, I liked seeing the photo of Daniel and Rachel when they were little, and reading your account of your New Year's celebrations then. Safe journey to Israel. The Santa and wolves poem We managed to get a few photos of Wynn and Mia under the tree yesterday. I'll just post one tonight and maybe a couple more tomorrow. |

I can understand what you mean about his "dressing" for the performance, but to me it seemed like he was maybe trying to humble his own persona to accentuate the message of the song. I looked at the other link and chose to avoid the added proselytizing in the "better quality" version.
