Cheryl, I'm so sorry I missed commenting yesterday on the wonderful photo of your adorable Doggies! It's Boxing Day here and though gray skies it's 12C/53F, very mild for Winter, thankfully as far as I'm concerned. It has been wet though and we took a very muddy trek around nearby Woodborough Hill this afternoon. For a country boy like Ed he's in his element, but as a SoCal girl used to dry sidewalks I kept my distaste for the muck to myself. He was such a sweetie yesterday surprising me with some very thoughtful gifts, including a beautiful handmade card , not complaining about the mud was the least I could to. I'm not always that restrained.

![]() Good afternoon and happy leftover day! Have a safe trip to Arizona, Karen. Enjoy! (I know you will!) Kris, knowing how talented Ed is, your card must be beautiful. There must have been a lot of mud judging by your comments. It's difficult to walk in, for sure. I just woke up at 12 noon, guess I was tired because I had no idea it was that late. Robert and the dogs must have been very quiet. Happy Hanukkah to those who are still celebrating. I will miss all the festive postings once Hanukkah is over, too. |

Kris, that store looks like one that I could get lost in for hours. Robert would be so bored following me around. I'd enjoy seeing more of your Bath photos when you have time to share them.

DANCERS ON FIRE![]() Few have witnessed the flamboyant courtship displays of Papua New Guinea's Flame Bowerbird. Hidden within the dense jungles and known by nearby villagers as the "Spirit of the Forest," the bird's flaming red plumage announces the presence of the unique bird whose extraordinary mating ritual has captured the interest of ornithologists and wildlife experts across the world. We follow acclaimed animal photographer Tadashi Shimada on his one-month mission to capture this bird's courtship dance, a ceremony never before caught on video. The bowerbird's dance is so captivating and erotic that it seems unreal, as if it has been an animation somehow. Note to the male: no head stomping next time. I liked the idea of the blue gifts, so sweet. Thank you for sharing this, Penny.

Penny the Papua New Guinea's King of Paradise's mating ritual is awesomely jawdropping! "Dancers on Fire" indeed! How vulnerable and precious they are! Just amazing! Thank you!
